Question about Panasonic Palmcorder PV-DV102 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Palmcorder will not focus

The unit all of a sudden won't focus and the digital zoom won't work. The on screen display will show it going from 1X to 10X zoom but the blurry shot never changes. My daughter thought she may have pushed a sequence of buttons to cause it but I can't figure out what that would be.

JVC Digital Camera focus

Did it work before? If so then it sounds like the focus motor/screw jack has failed and needs replacing. With some JVCs you can replace the whole lens system and a new one will re-calibrate itself, but I'd have to check on this model.

Wont zoom out or focus

An E:61:10 error means Zoom operations fault Inspect the lens block zoom reset sensor.
You can try to do a manual reset on your camera. If that doen't work it will probably have to be sent in for service.

SONY DCR-HC42 - auto focus will not work ???

that problem is on the lens the two motor is not working properly...sometimes it is a poor connection to the socket of the main board...other is photo sensor of the lens(not the ccd image sensor)or the driver ic of the 2 motor...i suggest you have to go the service center for repairing you camera cause it need to disassemble the camera for doing this....

Problem with focusing

sounds as though the focus motor worm gear is binding up. I have ,at times been able to take this assebly off the zoom lens ,oil it and reinstall it. very very light amout of floil, a very thin oil. Also the zoom motors worm gear binding will cause this problem, sometimes one of these motor/worm gear assemblies will have to be replaced.

ebay a parts camera - with a working camera ( most ' as is ' have tape problems ) , get jeweler ' s screwdrivers and take pictures ! as you begin disassembly - so you can put it back together ; a good technician can do the swap in 2 hours from start to testing ( your pictures will be interesting , whether you finish or not ! )

Digital zoom settings for Panasonic PV-Gs39

Hi, You have a tough one to manage because these cameras were not meant for low lighting situations. I have tried on a few occasions with varying degrees of success. Smaller cameras like these are light hungry; the more the better. But you can try some things. If you have the camera's user manual, go to the secition on "Recording in Special situations". It will tell you how to change your camera to manual focus, and change the auto exposure (AE) to something like spotlight. But you may have to test this. If you had a high-end professional camera you would change the "gain" but this camera doesn't have that feature. Here's a link to the user manual if you don't have it: The stage lights will mess up your auto focus, so it's best to change to manual focus. The stage lights will make the camera continually change focus which wil be very annoying when you view it on the television. In other words, the person you are filming will be in focus for a few seconds, and then the camera will spot something else and focus on that, and then back to the main character again. And again and again. I do not recommend the digital zoom. This creates an interpolated image, in other words, it's the "computer chip" that changes the pixels. The inmage quality won't be very good. Your a camera operator. Get in there and get the footage. : ) You don't have to be rude like the popparazzi, but get as close to the stage as possible. I would recommend testing during a rehearsal if at all possible. That way you can change the settings to get the best possible image, rather than during a live performance. Good luck. Thanks for reviewing me. NewMediaMan
