Hi, I have a Frigidaire Model #GLER341AS2. My belt broke and I took off the little vent on the back to see the belt just laying there. Now the real problem is once I buy a new belt, how do I put the thing on? I can't figure out how to take anything off the put the belt around the drum. Help!

Re: Can't Put Belt On
You have to remove the front of the dryer to
access the drum. First unplug the dryer. There are screws at the bottom of the front to remove the lower section. Once you remove that you can get to the screws for the door section. The front of the drum rides on the inside of the front panel so when you remove the panel the drum will drop down. Try to keep the drum in place with something to hold it up. Remove the old belt and place the new belt around the drum. Slid the belt back to where the belt used to ride and then loop the belt around the motor and the tension wheel. Make sure the tension wheel is tightening the belt. Hold up the drum and put the front panel back on. You may need a helper to hold things while you do this. Rotate the drum by hand and make sure it moves smoothly. Plug it back in and give it a try. I hope this helps. Any questions feel free to ask. Please rate me so I know if I'm Helping. Thanks.

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, GLER341AS2, is making a humming noise. It could be a possible issue within your belt, motor, or the blower assembly. The manufacture provides to a dryer preventative maintenance kit part number 5304457724 and it costs $45.12 plus tax and shipping. I would also recommend contacting a professional to help avoid any unnecessary purchases. I hope this helps. -Matt
That burning smell is probably a lint build up in the blower system of the dryer.
You will need to remove the back of the dryer and look for the vent tubing going to the hose connected to the outside. Once you find the tubing then disassemble and clean the tubing and blower wheel of dust...then clean your flexible vent tubing you have attached to the back of the dryer.

Hi, Problem here is that your belt either came off or is broken. To get to it, remove two screws at vent. Take a putty knife and press in on the front left and right sides just under the lid. Lift up and prop. You'll find two more screws at the top of the front on either side. Remove. Front will fall out to you and lift up. Remove doorswitch wires noting where they came off of. NOTE FIRST, UNPLUG THE DRYER! Belt part number is 341241 at $20.38. To install, belt around drum, lay down with flashlite. Belt goes around motor shaft. Pull idler pulley back put belt over it and release. Reinstall cab. way you took it off. Hope this helps.
please check to see if any fuses are bad or breaker thrown. if not have someone test the outlet for 220vac. the belt could be bad but not likely. if the light is out too. change the bulb to see if it has just went bad.
Look at the tips and tricks under my profile...I have quite a few tips and pictures of how the belt routes around the tensioner... it will give you an idea of how it should look. Look for the tip that matches your make of dryer...
if the motor is running, your belt is the problem.if all you hear is a slight humming noise, you may have a bad motor,or something caught in blower. if the drum turns easily by hand, its probably the belt
Unplug the dryer and using a 1/2 inch pait scraper locate the spring loded clips holding the top down to the front of the cabnet. They are located about one to two inches from the front corners of the dryer.
Lift the top and rest it on the wall behind the dryer.
Looking inside the dryer locate the screws holding the front panel to the cabnet and remove the screws.
Mark the wires to the door switch and remove.
Remove the front panel.
Go behind the dryer and remove the small rear panel near the bottom of the dryer.Observe how the belt is attached to the pulleys.Release the tention on the belt by moving the belt tentioner and sliding the belt off the motor pulley.
Go to the front of the dryer and grab the belt on the top of the dryer drum. Holding the belt lift the drum straight out holding the drum with the belt.
Check to see if all the rollers are in good shape and rotate freeley. Oil if needed.
Check to see if the teflon gliders located on the front panel that hold the drum are in good shape. Replace if needed.
Vaccum the inside of the dryer.
Put the new belt over the drum and line the drum up and install back into the dryer.
Put the front panel back on and reinstall the two screws.
Replace the door switch wires.
Make sure the grooves on the belt are flat to the dryer drum
Put the top down and go behind the dryer'
Locate the belt.
Pinch the belt and insert it under the tention pulley and slide it over the motor pulley. Make sure the belt is positioned straight and located where the old belt was positioned on the drum.
Take the top panel off by slideing a putty knife about 2 inches in at the front and releasing the tabs. remove screws from top of front panel after top removed. also remove 2 screws from inside of front panel on both sides about 4 inches down screwing back into front panel. pull front off and slip belt through opening. Feed belt around drum and put tension on the idler spring release onto belt. reassemble unit.
