Question about HP PSC 2175 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Hi, my printer keeps displaying this message "remove and check cartridge". I have removed and checked the cartridges then put them back many times and it still keeps displaying this problem. What should I do?

    I have the same problem with 'copy', 'scan' and 'photo card' blinking and display the message "remove and check catridge". Does the eraser work?

Remove them. Clean the electricial connections on them and the computer with a pencil eracer then reinstall. Worth a try.

My hp officejet is displaying a message "remove


Hi,

Your printer is in Error mode.. Specially with black ink empty message. HP Printer is designed in such manner that it will not allow you do to anything if it gives cartridge error message on printer screen.

you will have to replace the cartridge and align the printer to get it working.

Hi, just replaced my toner on the MFC-7220 and a message Toner Life End is displayed and will not print. I have tried 2 brand new toner cartridges. Thanks, Linda


Hi there !

Try this solution if it works, the memory of your printer still programs that your toner is end.

Try to make hard reset of your printer by turning off your printer for 5-10 mins, unplug the power cord as well and remove the cartridge toner. Then return back the cartridge, plug the power cord and then restart your printer. Then try to print again.

If displaying still this message, just press stop button to remove the message.

Also, if there is wiper for cleaning the toner cartridge everytime your put new toner, please do it.

This is what we do in your bother MFC printer when this message appears. Just restart the printer and keep pressing stop button when the printer starts.

Hi, I'm getting an error mesage that says right cartridge incorrect. I took the cartridge out and put it back in , but I'm still getting the error message. It was working fine and then the message appeared


turn the printer on.then remove both the cartridges out.on the cartridges you will see the brown color dotted circuit.clean that circuit with a dry tissue paper.on the lower base of the cartridge you will see the nozzle of the cartridge from where the ink comes out from the cartridge from printing.clean that area also with tissue paper.dont apply too much force on the circuit , the circuit of the cartridge is very delicate so take take care you don't make rashes on the cartridge or nozzle while cleaning the cartridges.clean the circuit of both the cartridges one-by-one. then in the printer where you insert the cartridges,there also you will see the same brown color dotted circuit .clean that circuit also with the dry tissue.take care you don't damage the printer circuit.then after the cleaning is finished,properly insert the cartridges in the printer to their respective positions.then check out the printer display.is it showing the same message or the message is gone.if its showing the same message ,then turn the printer off then ON then check out again if its still the same problem message on display then its confirmed that the right side cartridge in the printer is got faulty.the brown dotted circuit is getting short in the cartridge so the printer is not detecting the cartridge and this error comes on.in this case the cartridge needs to be replaced.this is very common problem and occurs many a times.replacing the cartridge solves the problem if cleaning the circuit does not helps. this will help.please do rate the solution.keep updated for any further assistance if more help required.,thanks.

  1. Remove and then reinsert the cartridge indicated in the error message.
  2. If the error is still displayed, clean the contacts. Click here to see how.
  3. If the error message is Error. Remove and Check Black or Photo Cartridge , the following steps may help:
    1. Remove both cartridges, lower the latches, and close the printer access door.
    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.
  4. If neither of the steps above fixed the problem, either the cartridge or the printer is faulty.5. Replace Cartridge.Please rate my response!!!Thanks,SF

Hp PSC 950 gives me a message to remove and check black cartridge


Did you remove the tape from the contacts of the new black cartridge? If so once the new one is in, unplug the printer from power and power it back on, it should do a full check after a power on off.

I think that spring must have gotten loose that holds the cartridge in place, right hand side, put it back where it belongs, might want to compare with the other, black cartridge side.  Good Luck!

Keep getting a U071 error message for cartge Y


Open the printer cover and check to make sure only one Yellow cartridge is installed. If so, try the following:
Remove each of the other cartridges, one at a time as necessary and see if the error message changes. Start by lifting the cover, then wait for the printhead to move to the left so you can access the cartridges inside. Pull out one of the other cartridges ( not Y) by pushing its front tab back then close the cover. Check the display, repeat as necessary. The error should have changed to U043 (bad or missing cartridge) once you remove the bad cartridge. When you replace it, the printer should work. My guess is the Magenta or Cyan cartridge is causing your error.

The following error message appears on the color graphics display after you insert a cartridge: Remove and Check Print Cartridges . The printer will not print. The message does not specify which cartridge has caused the error. Solution This error message indicates that the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Follow the steps below to solve the problem.
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    OR
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.

    Check black cartridge message


    This happens if you refilled the cartridges, and forgot to take out the air..

    Follow this steps..
    1. Switch on the printer, open cartridge bay, remove cartridge, dont close the cartridge holder flaps, directly unplug the power supply from the printer end.

    2. take a soft cotton, lint free cloth, slightly swab it with pure water, wring the cloth so any excess water is removed, and clean the contact pins inside the printer cartridge holder..

    3. clean the cartridge head by keeping it in hot water (about 50C) and then wiping it clean, keep it upright for a few min, and when both printer and cartridge is completly dry put it back in, voila it should not display the message now...
