I cannot install in pc

Hi,

Can you try right-click on the installation kit, and select Run as Administrator - I believe you are using Windows 7?

Did you try reinstalling it?
Go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/download/
Make sure you have the correct Operating System version. Make sure you are installing the right package x86 (32bit) or 64bit.
If you have troubles installing, try running it as an administrator. instalation file > Right Click > Run as administrator

a) Make sure you are the administrator and if not right-click on the installation program and click "Run as Administrator".

b) Use the Windows Installer Clean up Utility to uninstall the Yahoo messenger completely

Then install the Yahoo Messenger 10 from the link http://messenger.yahoo.com/win/

You didn't write that which operating system you using....but this error comes maximum in vista...it is related with Windows Resource Protection (WRP)...which use to keep your system file protected and secure....may be any of the file in SxS folder is corrupted or incorrect version.... You can try running sfc.exe(system file checker tool) to fix this....If you using vista, run your pc as an administrator and run cmd as an administrator as well. Type sfc /scannow and type Enter....while it running don't do other work on pc....it may take some time...be patient .....this command will scan all the protected system files, find out the incorrect version or corrupted version and replace with correct/suitable version....once you finish restart your pc and try install Yahoo messenger.

If you are a XP user, run your pc in Safe mode.and put the same command in cmd...and after finishing install yahoo messenger...
I think this suggestion will help you to fix your issue...

disabling the anti virus and installing the messenger will solve the problem for sure

I just spent the last 6 hours fighting the same problem. Trying to re-load an old version of YM the installation would fail at the last minute and tell me to run it from an administrators account - even though I'm set up as an administrator on my work PC.

Finally fixed the problem by uninstalling (run Unwise.exe in the messenger directory to remove YM). Then restarted the computer in Safe mode and installed from there with no errors.

Hi Ahmed let me ask are you running windows vista and if so have you tried installing Yahoo with the account manager turned off ? ... Regards Vortash

Before starting the installer right click the file and then choose Run as, then select adminitrator.

Are you using your personal PC/laptop or you are trying to download and install through your company's network? Some companies won't allow you to have administrative rights in the PC/laptop they assigned to you.. You can contact your helpdesk for that matter.
However, if it is your PC/laptop, be sure that the account you are using have administrative privileges or "administrator" account. You can check that on the Control Panel and go to user accounts.
