Pioneer deck suddenly stopped working

I had gotten a pioneer deck for my birthday and subs for the back of my car this past year. my friends brother hooked it up and all was fine :) then i took it in to the Pontiac dealership to get a new electronic brake module or something and it coincidentally wasn't working after that. i brought it back to them and they had a tech look at it and they said that there is nothing wrong with the power that is going to the deck, the unit itself has failed. how do i know this for sure? everyone that i describe the situation to says it is probably a wiring problem or something like that like resetting the reset button (which i cant find). any suggestions? its not the exact model as below. i dont know what the model number is exactly but it is a new one, similar to http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Source/CD-Players/Pioneer/DEH-P3000IB

Someone who works there probably had a dead one that he "traded with you. Sounds shady to me.... I wouldn't trust no one, even at a dealership.

Did you recently update your iPhone 3GS firmware to iOS 4.x ? There is a signficant number of people with this problem after the firmware update. Here are two possible solutions that have worked for some people.

1) Turn off your iPhone (hold the power switch down, then swipie off). Turn the deck on to your USB1 or USB2 (whatever you are using). Now plug the iPhone into the deck. This should turn the iPhone on, and "reset" the connection to the USB.

2) Turn the deck on and switch to the proper USB source. Connect the iPhone to the deck, then initiate a "hard reset" of the iPhone (hold the power

I am putting an external amp to run my subs and i need to know where to hook my remote wire to from the back of the deck

Norrmally the head unit/deck has a blue wire for the remote in the Pioneer set. So check this out and use a meter to see for voltage when the head set is switched on. Now you can connecct this as the remote swiching required for your amplifier. hope you look into the back side of the head unit ,in the cluster wire from the connectors. Good day

PIONEER 300 WATT CAR STEREO AMP WIREING HOW TOO

depending on how many channels the amp is, you may not be able to hook everything up to it.

usually you have a separate amp for subs. 4 channel amp for the speakers in the car, and a mono amp for the subs.

To hook them all up to the same amp you would need an amp with 5 channels. It wouldn't work out right.

If you have a mono amp its only for subs.

If you have a 2 channel you can either hook it up to the rear speakers or bridge them to mono to run the subs.

you need a channel per speaker basically.

I cant get my subwoofer system to work

Do you use a amplifier to power the subs? If so, the amp needs a signal to turn on. This is supplied by the blue/white wire labeled 'system remote' in pioneer radio's.

Search for the next term on this site for more information about this wire:

Installing pioneer deck

Considering you have done many installs, make sure you check the fuse in the back of the unit. Then check all the fuses in your car. My car has 4 fuses for the radio.
