Question about Jl Audio 500/1 Car Audio Amplifier

1 Answer

My powered subwoofer has RCA inputs for four jacks. (two front, two rear) My CD head also has four RCA outputs (2 front and 2 rear). Is there some advantage to connecting all of these with patch cables, or is it sufficient (better?) to use only one set of amplifier inputs?

The advantage is every time you split a pre-amp signal, the voltage, too, divides in half. Your signal (music) is going down the river at 2 volts say, and when it gets to the amplifier, it is split into 4 streams. The signal will be distorted and the amplifier will not work as efficiently. Use the Front AND rear RCAs so your amplifier uses the best possible signal - for the best possible results!

Also, if you are using 4 RCAs you get true stereo FL FR RR RL Instead of L and R

LED lights up but! ???

Sounds like there is a problem with the amp. Try switching the inputs around for that output on the amp. If that does not help, Yes I would have to say that there is a problem with the amp output circuit.

I just got a multimedia surround system with subwoofer.Spa7650/05, 180w.The subwoofer has three audio connections, front, centre and rear,My tv only has an audio coaxial.I can't connect it.What adapter...

Hello,
Firs of all lets get agree on something..The subwoofer has three audio connections for "output " to :front, centre and rear speakers...these are not for "input"..Your powered SUB provides necessary signal for other spekers..
You can connect TV audio coaxial to SUB input with a RCA cable.....if your SUB does not have "RCA input " probably it should have "3,5mm Haedphone female Jack"..
if this is the case you need to buy a cable ; one end 3,5mm MALE headphone jack and the other end 2xRCA stereo (or 1x RCA for mono or you may need "Y cable " ) to be connected to your TV...
And you need to connect front, centre and rear speakers to your SUB as well...
Take care and if it succeeds please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up
for Helping out the Community :)

Hope this helps!

HOW DO I PLUG UP THE SUBWOOFER TO AMPLIFIER

On the back of the amp, there should be a jack with the name "SUBWOOFER PRE OUT". It is a standard RCA jack, but it only puts out a line output, meaning only self-powered subwoofers will work with it. Usually, if the subwoofer does not have an amp, it will have 2 imputs and 2 outputs. You plug the two left and right inputs into the front speaker jack on the amp, and then plug the front speakers into the left and right amp on the subwoofer.

Have one wire for audio sub out, but two input ports to amp

This one Wire should be for the +. Try connecting the + to the Head Unit and - to a Common Ground. At the Worst, You will Blow the Amp Fuse if not Correct. The Lead from the Head Unit is Only an Off and On from the Ignition. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

How can i connect an mp3 player on my Power Acoustik PTID-4007

Expandability Options:
  • 3 sets of preamp outputs (front, rear and subwoofer)
  • Telephone Mute trigger wire for Bluetooth adaptation
  • iPod Ready: IC-1 iPod Connection Cable Required and Sold Separately
  • Front-panel auxiliary input: Mini USB input and SD Card slot
  • Rear auxiliary input: 1 back-up camera input and 1 A/V input
  • 1 Video output
The aux rear a/v input should do the trick.
If it is a component (RCA) type input, you will need a Male 3.5mm to dual Male RCA adapter.
If it is a 3.5mm input, a Male 3.5mm on each end.

I believe you will need the Dual RCA (red/wht) to 3.5mm cable.
The Audio inputs are purple RCAs on the back of your head unit.

Connect powered subwoofer

  • If your receiver has a dedicated subwoofer line level output, we recommend connecting your subwoofer to this jack. Most receivers will have just one (mono) subwoofer output, while quite a few subs require two inputs. You can use an RCA "Y" adapter cord , which is a cable with one female RCA jack at one end, and two male RCA plugs at the other. Some receivers require menu settings (such as "sub-on" or "front speakers-small") that must be made before the sub output will be active.

    Subwoofer.......

Please check your model number, I can not find it on the JVC service website.

This is a powered sub-woofer I think. You need to have a thick black cord that connects the sub to the head unit. Then the satellite speakers get connected to the speaker jacks on the sub-woofer box. The sub-woofer should also be plugged into an A/C outlet on the wall.

The speaker outputs are labeled right there where you connect the speaker wires. You should see a red and black connector for each speaker and they are labeled "front right" "front left" "center" "rear right" "rear left".

If you do not have the thick black cord you need to connect the head unit with the sub-woofer, you can not use this system.

If you look at the head unit and give me the model number on it, I may be able to find the part you need. But I must have a good model number to work with, preferably from the head unit.

    Car amplifers,,,,kicker amp's RCA jacks!

You could do a couple things if your head unit has all three outputs, then take them and hook them into the inputs. If you have just the front and the rear outputs, hook those to the inputs front and rear. Then hook the output of the 4 channel to the input of the mono block. I hope this helped
