Question about Fisher Paykel EcoSmart GWL15

1 Answer

My Fisher & Paykel GWL15 wouldn't rinse or spin ysterday. After going through the self diagnostics it showed it was the drain pump. Took apart drain pump and found a penny and big clump of fuzz lodged in there. We started it back up and it went through all the cycles, got to rinse and and stopped working, the same lights came on (drain pump). Then the power stopped working. I've only had this machine for a year and 1/2 .Now there is no power going to the washer. Repair man can't get here for a week. Can you help My washer will not drain. It hums and then beeps constantly. I suspect the pump is blocked with lint, but I have no idea how to check that out.

Empty the washer tub. Tilt the washer over slightly to determine where the pump is. Once you find the small black box with an exterior rotor, simply tilt the washer over enough to get to the pump. If you lean the washer top on about a 1 foot stool you should be able to get to the pump from under the machine. Loosen the 4 screws holding the pump in place. The pump will then turn counter clockwise about 1/5 of an inch and release. The clog should then be visible and easily removable.

How do I see what is causing my Fisher & Paykel EcoSmart washer to leak water?

If it is leaking when draining this would point to the main seal of the WATER PUMP. (Quite common for older machines.)
The pump can be easily removed by leaning the machine backwards, remove wires and see picture. NOTE: about half a litre of water will gush out so it is best to take machine outdoors. Go to a recycling centre or online auction for a replacement. They can be fiddly to replace.

Does It just shake bowl left & right, it will soon give you fault code 56.
Well its a board problem you will need to get technician to fix this board, three resistors(R129,R130,R131) need to be changed for a 1MegOhm resistor.

I have a gwl15 Fisher Paykel Smart Drive and it will not get past the rinse cycle, water will not drain out! I found the diagnostic mode sheet and the number I come up with is none of the fault...

Hi - it would seem the washer pump may actually be blocked for some reason... If you had followed the method as per the diagnostics then if you reckon you got 35 then its a communications error beween the console & display. Furthermore you would be able to mannually start the pump in diagnostic mode to see if its working fine.. But under normal cond..... the machine would come up with a pump error & code 37 - so perhaps it is ok.

Remedy - check the harness wire connections between the display & the controller unit is good - clean - otherwise replace the display unit to correct.

On the error codes - there is a Code 35 - just that its not available to the public - it was only ever issued on a DVD sent to the service agents - have never actually seen it on the secure service site.

See how you go....

F&P washer lights on and beeps

Clogged pump stopped up drain. If the washer does not think all water was pumped out in 8 minutes then it shuts down. Slow drain is my first inclination.

Hi Dale..
It sounds like you have a leaky inlet valve assembly. The part number is 421029P and is easy to replace. You can get one here:
