Kenmore Dryer stop running when release the start button
We have a Kenmore Electric Dryer (model: 110.64972300). It will run when we keep pushing the start button down. But it stops immediatly if we release thevstart button. We tested the push-to-start button, it seems fine. Does it a push-to-start button problem or other problem? Please help. Thanks,

What you describe is either a failed evenheat board or a failed motor relay.
Please post the complete model number from the machine and I can help you narrow it down. There should be a wiring diagram inside the console with voltage checks also.
if the dryer runs when you push the botton in and stops when you stop pushing on the button you have a bad even heat board or a bad motor relay.these parts are located inside the top console,if you send me the model number i can look up your dryer and tell you the part you need to change out
The motor centrifugal switch is not switching from the start winding to the run winding. The switch should stay in the run winding when the motor picks up speed unless power to the motor is interrupted or cut off. The switch is replaceable on most dryer models but sometimes it is an integral or built-in part of the dryer motor and failure of the switch requires the replacement of the motor. Indicate the exact model number of the dryer for more accurate troubleshooting and repair advice.
Ticking sound is the timer running--so it is not the problem unless a contact has failed or a wire has come loose. Broken door switch, thermostat failed in open position, or clogged lint filter/exhaust vent/outlet would keep unit from running. If you can hear the motor running but the drum is not turning then the drum belt is broken.
