Question about Zenith B25A02Z TV

1 Answer

Sound We were watching a program and the sound became distorted (words were slow and the voices had a real deep sound). I tried different channels. The voices seemed a little different on the higher channels (22 and 33) than on channels 8, 10 and 13. We have Time Warner Cable. Our other tv, connected to the cable line, works fine so we are thinking it is something with the tv itself. The Zenith Color TV handles the HD signal thru the cable and we really enjoy the sound and picture on this old tv. The TV is a 1998 Zenith Color TV - serial number =SE2517P. It is a console with speakers along the side of the picture tube. It has been in the family for years. My brother-in-law bought in 1988 and now we have it. We have had it in our home for 11 years. In that 11 years, only once did it need repair (something burned out like a tube but not the picture tube). Can you help? Sandi J

I do not have a Zenith B25A02Z TV. What I do have is a 1988 Zenith Color TV SE2517P. I called a local tv repairman and discussed the problem over the phone. He can take a look at it if we bring it in (service call to the home cost $100 just to show up). He said it was worth fixing since he thought it was only the sound. We have a great picture. He charges $20 to look at it but we have to leave it. He lives 20 minutes away one way. We think it is worth the trip if we can get it loaded into our minivan. We live in western NY where the weather can get pretty ugly many days. I will post the solution later when I know. FYI

No Volume from cable input

The sound is probably set to the SAP channel (language) and the SAP channel is not active on the program you are watching. Just push the SAP button on the remote. The button might be labelled SAP or LANG. This will return you to the main sound channel which is always active.

Good pictures but no sound just static

tvs get their picture and sound on different channels, and in europe, and in the usa the sound is on different channels, try in sound settings to set it to your area's sound defaults, so the tv will search for the sound at the right channels.

Channel display and sound are so small can hardly see from 6 ft away on my samsung 26 in. tv/monitor T260HD

Hard to tell without more info.  Almost sounds like you're trying to watch 16:9, HD or widescreen format channels on your TV.  Without a bigger screen the top and bottom will be chopped off severly limiting viewing real estate.

TV channel sound from a different channel

I just unplugged the tv from the power source and disconnected the cable connection and then reconnected them back after sometime. The TV started auto programming after turning on and that resolved the problem.

Background sound too loud

Thank you, everyone! I thought maybe I was losing my mind. I can hardly watch a lot of the TV shows anymore due to the inappropriate use of music -- either it's too loud or there's just too darned much of it. Come on, TV producers! You are supposed to get better with time, not worse! Thank goodness I'm not alone.

Check the audio settings one your menu and make sure the TV is in STEREO mode and not in SAP mode (second audio program) Some stations will broadcast Spanish, some the same or distorted audio, and some with no audio at all..
