I've got a monitor that will dipict an image, but everything is very slow, ie. the mouse lags way behind, and this is the same problem when opening and closing windows. I may have a lamp out also, because my desktop picture is very dark now.
Does anyone have any ideas about what might cause this problem?

First remove the four screws behind the stand mount on the monitor. Then turn monitor vertically so thet the bottom is up. Next look for slots betweem the portions of the srame on the bottom. Use a slotted screw driver to pry open the bottom. Becareful to not damage the plastic. As bottom is opening pry around the entire frame it will come loose. Make sure you place the monitor on a table covered with a towel in the final process to un clip the case.
It sounds to me like the picture tube in the monitor is going out. I began to wonder if it was your video card until you mentioned that you used it with various computers. This tells me it's the monitor itself. Unfortunetly, I think your monitor may be due for retirement.
Pls go to the monitor menu and reset the settings.
You might find an option Factory Reset or a similar option and once you choose that option, it will reset the monitor settings and tht should fix your problem.
