When I plug in power cord, unit says "Hello", cycles through all settings, says"goodbye, then starts all over again. I can play a CD all the way through.

Sounds like its stuck in demo mode. Look up model number on the internet if you don't have a manual. Hope this helps

CD player not working

Well, if you push the cd button and no cd player is installed, then you can try a salvage yard to find one and have an auto electric shop install it for you.

Otherwise, you can go to a place like Best Buy, and have them install a cd changer, like a Sony, for instance, that plays through a certain FM stereo frequency on your radio and they might be able to make it so that it powers up when you hit the cd button, although

many times they'll just have it power up on your ignition key being on, and you have to remember what frequency or preset on your radio to have to hear the cd-player play.

That's tech for you.

Cd player doesn't work

If this is a stock radio you pull it out and run it over. those cd players have more issues than Iraq. No there is no reset button on the there. If you are having problems with your stereo you would spend less money if just get a new one. stereo shops have stereos that would work better for you I'm sure. you can get one for $50 -$100 and only pay 40 or 50 for install. take care.

Avh-p5700 pioneer

My first suggestion is to not purchase "used" electronics from eBay. I bought the same kind of unit from eBay... and mine is broken too. I got a cell phone, car stereo, and a remote.. they were all not working properly when I received them.

Did you try the restart button. It is a small, pin size button on the right-side of the unit near the 4-way select buttons. My player wouldn't eject a cd either, and when I pushed the restart button with a pin, the cd ejected and the unit was ok for playing cds... that's about it

Installation

are you experienced in installing car stereos at all? these decks are not the easiest to install. Best bet would be to try to find an installation manual....there would be way too much instruction to put on here.
