Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P50 Digital Camera
The DSC-P50 does have a built in charger. You need the Sony AC-LS1A to recharge an infolithium battery in this camera. The AC charger plugs in the bottom left of the camera as you hold it for taking pictures. The battery has to be a rechargable infolithium. If you try recharging any other type it will not recharge or worse cause a fire/explosion from an over heated battery. I have used this type of charge on a Sony NP-FS11 Infolithium battery for over 6 years. I have finally had to replace the battery with a new one.

You need a separate battery charger for this camera. It does not have a battery charger built into the camera itself and can not be recharged thru any cords connected directly to the camera. The USB cords only transfer the files to the computer, they don't recharge the camera.
