Missing cdrom drive

my cdrom drive is missing on "my computer" I installed a memorex DVD drive and put it as the slave to my PC CD drive. The LED light is on but the icon in my storage is not there for the DVD Drive but only the originial CD drive icon. I can't access my DVD drive at all. I don't know what to do? I put in a CD and then a DVD into the DVD drive and nothing happens? Its useless!

The triggers determining the slave was set to master with the CD rom drive as well...so I had two master drives...kind've stupid. Everything is now working properly!
