Our washer is just over a year old. My husband was doing a load of laundry and had no problems. The next time he tried to use it (very shortly after) and pressed the power button, it lights up, beeps three times, and then does nothing - no lights, no error codes, no nothing. Any ideas?

LD is an error code relating to poor drainage. Check the drain hose and/or pipe for a clog. It's also possible that debris could have worked itself into the drain pump, causing a delay in drainage. Fixing your drainage problem will fix the LD error code.
LD code is long drain one of 2 things the drain pump is frozen and need to be replaced or there is somthing in the pump. Pull the washer a way from the wall a bit and get a bunch of towels. Lean the washer back against the wall towards the middle in the back you will see the pump take it apart and find the clog. it can be assessed through the bottom.
Pressing the options and select buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds worked. For me it happened this way: on the first attempt, with the indicator lights already "timed-out" and off, pressing and holding the options and select buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds caused the lights to come back on and flash the "LOC" code again. But holding the options and select buttons together for 5-10 seconds a second time caused the indicator lights to stop flashing, and allowed me to start the cycle.
