I:\ is not accessible the file or dir.is corrupted and unreadable
Hi I have a maxtor personal storage 3200. 150 gig. and I cant access it I looked and it shows in my computer when i click on it it gives me that error.the file or directory is corrpted and unreadable.I ran chkdsk.and nothing. So I went to disk manager and the drive is there but it says it is [raw] not nfts.what to do next If I formatt it to nfts I will lose all data.please help.My maxtor 3200 is giving me the error message "file is corrupt and unreadable". I have thousands of valuable pics and video from the past ten year on it. I am so sad about this. Can anyone help? Where do I begin?

When your drive is in RAW format, the best thing you can do is try to
recover the files and then get the hard drive replaced. I would
recommend trying the trial version of this program:

Hi and thanks for writing back. I found that since the drive turned to a raw that windows will not read it.I don't know why it turned from ntfs to raw but it did. so I downloaded the O&O file recovery trial ver.to see if I could recover the pics. and movies.It took 5 hrs. to run and it recoverd everything.now I have to buy the software. but I know it is still all there.this software will even recover reformatted drives.Anybody that gets the same error mess. look to see if your file system has changed.If so it looks like recovery software is the only way to go.I have other good info on this and other maxtor hdd I will check back on post and write if you have sim.probs.
