There should be a white tag somewhere on the back of your inspiron mini with the serial number on it.

It's the 11 digit number (numbers only) located next to the bar codes on the bottom of your product label. If you can't read it or if it's worn out, I am sorry, but if you still able to see the serial number and wish to register your product, you can still try using the Serial Number. I'm not sure if you can. I think they are both separate numbers entirely. They both show up on the stick on the under side of my acer laptop. The SNID is 11 characters (numbers only) long and the S/N is 22 characters (alpha and numbers)

my daughter hooked up her acer netbook w/out me. now i cant find out how or where to go to register it so the warranty will be valid. can someone help me please?

For future reference do not mention your serial number. Here is a link to the user guide.

Sometimes a serial number will be imprinted on a receipt, depending on where you bought the computer...or on packaging that you might have saved...
I've seen suggestions that it might be possible to locate it in the cmos/bios setup, but that doesn't seem too likely to me, and if you found one there, it's hard to believe it would be the same as the production ser. #.
You could try sending a support request to Acer, describing your situation... they might have some trick to locate critical info like hitting esc or F2 as it boots, but it may scroll by too quickly to read...

If you have problems with the online registration, you should have a card that you can fill out and post. Or a contact number that you can call and register your details with. This will be inside the plastic bag that came with the instructions.
