my daughters Acer 5610z was auto updating and when it restarted it had a corrupt file acpi.sys. the laptop didnt come with a Vista OS disc so I was told that if I go to the bios I can disable the acpi so it will boot up ok. well the bios has a password on it and my daughter said she has never been in the bios or set a password for it. how can I get into the bios or correct the corrupt file?

hit crtl or f 10 on boot up once inth cmos you sholuld beable to change the password try downloading vista from utorrent
