Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Dishwasher repair Dear Guru, I hope you are well this evening. I have a Whirlpool Quietwash Plus dishwasher (940 Series) that will randomly have water sitting in after running through a washing cycle. In addition, some mornings there will randomly be a couple inches of water sitting in the bottom without every running the washer. Need assistance. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you for your time. J

Without model unablr to look up exact unit, but in genreral, either ther is a blockage/clog in oyour drain line not alowing complete drain of cycle, as far as never really washing, i would look into perhaps a faulty/ sloppy door switch assembly. if for some reason the dorr latch "loses contact" the machine will take that as someone openig the door and thus stopping from proceding in cycle.with complete model umber i may bbe able to assist further

Why wont the water empty out?

Sounds like an electrical control problem, or bad connections or a bad pump and or motor. Otherwise a clog in the Dishwasher drain hose, or even the connection to sink drain is clogged.

Sounds like the door interlocking system. Is the door closing properly? Is there anything in the way?

I have a Whirlpool quietwash plus 940 series dishwasher that has stopped working. It left water standing in the bottom of it. When I push the button to start it, it makes clicking sounds and acts like it...

Well, the manual I found online is not free, it will cost you $9.99. http://www.user-manuals.com/user-manual-WHIRLPOOL-DU940QWDB3.html

Because you hear a faint click, that means that your power is probably making it all the way to your control panel. There may be a weak solenoid or some other component that is not working properly. It is also possible that there could be a bad connection somewhere. Do you have any experience in working with appliances like this? If not you may want to seek the help of a professional to work on this in person.

Same problem and I was about to call for service. Opened the dishwasher to get the model number and noticed a sticker stating to hold down the Heated Dry button for 5 seconds to clear the lock light. Worked for me!

Whirlpool dishwasher repetes cycles continiously

yes does sound like a "stuck"button within the membrane switch cause constant restarting and/or re-cycling. wire diagram and tech sheet are generally located under the lower acesss panel(unless previous repair ***** returned it). tried looking up the part couldnt find exact model match mine all ended in Q1,Q2, ** Q3, but parts from my models ranged from 110-165
