Question about Best Data Products CMX300v2 Modem

Modem disconnects from internet. must unplug to reconnect

My CM300V2 modem worked great for about 3 years. Now however it seems to disconnect from the internet (high speed cable) at least daily. The modem must be unplugged in order to reconnect. I uploaded the latest driver to no avail. The Internet Protocol is set to obtain IP adresses and DNS server addresses automatically. Any help would be appreciated. Do modems just wear out?

That is over 26,000 hours of on time. Since most of the modem don't come with a cooling device. the max on time for any given modem is 15,000 to 20,000 hours.
yes, it is time to change a modem.

modems can become disconnected from connection hiccups
they then cannot find all the addresses to reconnect
All recommend that the moden be switched of for say 1 minute then switch it back on and let it do it's reconnect act --generally works

Are you connected to WiFi?. If so disconnect then reconnect. If that does not work go into your internet settings. And run a troubleshoot. Or try unplugging your modem and wait 10 seconds and plug back in

I just reset my dell computer back to factory setting. How do I now reset up for internet connection. My provider is verizon and I am using internet explorer

You want to reset your internet connection???
If yes then follow the given steps....

Step 1

Turn the modem so that the back of it is facing you. Locate the power supply cord connected to the back of the device.
Step 2

Gently unplug the power supply cord and leave it unplugged for about 10 seconds. If you also have a router connected to the modem, disconnect the power cord of the router as well.
Step 3

After about 10 seconds reconnect the DSL modem power cord. Wait for the status lights on the front of the unit to come on. They may blink at first before turning solid green, or they may first illuminate as orange, then turn green, depending on the modem model. The "Internet" and "Incoming" lights may continue to flicker, this is normal operation for modems.
Step 4

After the modem is reset, reconnect the router power supply if you have a router. Wait a few minutes before resuming normal Internet use.

If you need any kind of technical assistance you can contact support cell

My internet keeps disconnecting

It sounds like the wire from your house to the isp switch is faulty you should probably call them down to fix. Or it could just be the modem are you using the same modem for both computers? If so then that's probably the problem.

* If you can connect after disconnecting power and reconnecting, it means there is formation of static charge on modem

* Check whether there is any cordless phone or any other satellite devices next to the modem. If so, move the modem 10 feet away.

* If your modem is placed on carpet, please place it on wooden desk

If this doesnt work, please dont rate me down, if it works, please rate me as fixya!!! lol...
