Microsoft has a hotline 1 (800) RU-LEGIT

If you bought a legitimate version of windows xp call their support hotline and they will help you activate the software. Go to this site for support from microsoft. you have to fill out a questionaire then it will provide you with phone number to call their tech support

http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?acty=ProductList&ctl=productlist&wf=PID&trl=PID%7eProductList&ln=en-us&prid=3219&gprid=37013

They will determine if its a legit or pirated copy, or give you a working activation code if that is the problem

This error means that your install of windows was a pirate copy or it was installed to many times. If you got this copy of windows with a new computer call Microsoft at the number they have provided and they will get it resolved. If you are un sure where this copy of windows came from or you purchased the computer second hand you will need to purchase a valid copy of windows to make it go away. Microsoft has a program that allows you to purchase a valid copy at a discount if you buy it through them.

You may be a victim of software counterfeiting.

Just click validate, enter the activation # and reactivate.
It does this if the activation file gets damaged,or if using pirated software.(if this is pirated software, you will need to get a genuine copy)

Please rate this fixya

Genuine validation

you need a valid COA(certificate of authenticity). means you need a valid product key for your operating system. Once you have it, it will solve your problem.
