I don't have this model but I have had two Siemens phone systems. Typically, when the handset says "Searching" it is trying to connect to the base station (the part actually connected to the phone line). This can happen if the handset is too far from the base station to connect to it wirelessly. It can also happen if the handset has become unregistered from the base station (or was never registered to begin with). If the distance issue is not the problem, look in your documentation for how to register the handset and give that a try.
Couple of basic things. First, call or take the phone to the store where you purchased it. They are best equipped to deal with any problem, and often times will help you months after your purchase. Next, shut the phone off. Take out the battery. Put it back in. Turn the phone on.
Next. on the back of the phone there should be a tiny button. This is the reset button. Use a pen tip to reset it. Finally, check the company website, under troubleshooting. If you have this problem, someone else has also. Maybe the solution is posted. Hope this helps.
