My sgh-i617 gps is locked, to force you into downloading maps

Remove the battery for sometime and then reinsert it and power on the device. I do not know what maps you are using. I would recommend google maps v 3.2. Download it from maps.google.com or from m.google.com/maps.

Activate GPS on HTC TYTN11

HTC tytn II, att tilt,Kaiser ( all the same products) have internal GPS chip installed just near the camera , so you need not buy anything else. Just get google maps app, a internet connection and try to find your self by using locate me feature on google map, the GPS chip will point you on map with very much accuracy.

Debranding samsung f700

The only way is a firmware flash.

Problem is that its risky, voids your warranty (i think) and does not guarantee that it will work.

My f700 is debranded only because I bought it that way.

Some excellent info on firmware flash of f700 (its translated from Dutch thanks to the lovely gentlemen from google!)
