Why the battery of my unit is not charging? and When do i know the rechargeable battery is to be replaced?Coy

You need to replace the battery when it no longer charges or when the battery won't hold a charge and dies quickly. the charging symbol will light, as the charger is working, but in your case, the battery is not accepting or holding the charge.

Is this a hand-held DVD player?

Why red charge light keeps blinking?

Is your battery a LiPo (Lithium?) If so ... These special batteries are charged by a computer circuit that holds the charge amperage constant and adjust upward the charging voltage until the required battery voltage is reached. At this time the charger hold a constant voltage and decreases the amperage as the battery capacity is "topped off". the charger circuit charges the entire battery at once but monitors each cell (cells are about 3.7 volts each) and controls the charge so that all the cells are ballanced.

When one of the cells that makes up the battery starts to go bad, the ballance circuitry prevents over charging the others, so one weak cell hold all the cells back from full charge and better charger circuits will signal you with an led or such that the battery is' going' bad.

Battery not holding a charge

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.Since you did not supply details of your device and the type of battery I cannot advise where to purchase the battery.
I suggest you Google the Internet for the rechargeable battery you require.

Battery is not charging

Check the voltage and currrent factor of the battery charging circuit. Use a multimeter in voltage during charging and in series to the battery using a jumper to see the current to the battery. If the charge voltage currrent is good then the battery is faulty , if not the charging circuit must be checked.

No problem just bought a mpd-1760 from someone its brand new never even been used ,but no instructions/need to know how long to charge battery for first time or at all //charging time for battery to watch...

Hello,
To charge the battery back you want to
  1. Turn the power off the DVD player first as the battery pack will not charge with the power on.
  2. Attach the battery pack to the player.
  3. Connect the AC power adapter and the power cord to the player.
  4. Charging will now start and the Power/Charge indicator should now be orange.
  5. Do not unhook either cord until the Power/Charge turns off.
  6. Time of charging is approximately 4 1/2 hours.
  7. The battery pack will more than likely get warm while charging. This is normal. Keep it as much in the open as you can for the best ventilation possible.
  8. You will get a low power indicator on the screen when the battery has a low charge.

As for playback time you will get about 2 1/3 hours of actual playback and about 4 hours of standby with the DVD player actually on.
Regards, Tony

How should i store my poetable dvd player battery?

Store it full charge. If you store it low charge, then battery life will be compromised. Research and tests have proven that storing batteries full charged will extend its life. Also make sure that you charge stored batteries every 3 months to further extend its life.

Need help charging my mintek dvd player battery

The way the battery is usually charged is by plugging it into the player and plugging the player into the a/c outlet. Do not use the player, Just allow the player to charge the battery. The way you tell if the charging is working is the light on the front will usually be a red color and it will be steady color or blinking while charging. When the battery is fully charged, the light will turn green or turn off . This lets you know that the battery has fully charged. To test this try using the dvd player on the battery only. Play a dvd or cd and see if the battery is working properly. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

MY BATTERY IS NOT HOLDING A CHARGE LONG ENOUGH TO WATCH A 2HR MOVIE. HOW DO I TELL IF IT IS THE BATTERY OR THE CHARGER.     S/N;210FD140335 DVD MODELPVS12701                        THANK...

There are only a few possible reasons...

  1. The battery is not being charged properly
  2. The battery needs to be cycled
  3. The batter is defective
Option 1 - If available try another charger
Option 2 - Run the device until the battery totally dead\depleated of power. Then charge the battery for the maximum charge time suggested by the manufacturer. If you do not have the manual and cannot find their website then attempt to charge the unit for apptox 24 hours. If this does not work then it is either option 1 or 2.
Option 3 - If available try another battery in the device and see if it is being charged and if it is holding the charge. If Yes, then the battery need to be replaced.

Battery won't charge

A couple of things could be the problem.
A special circuit detects when the battery needs charging, it is suppose to charge the battery, that could be bad.Sometimes, a special circuit charges the battery WHILE playing the movie.
The battery could be 'dead' not charging and the same circuit tells it to bypass charging and go directly to turning on the set.
If you got it from a person that has the knowledge, they could have bypass the charging circuit and wired it to just turn on.
You did not say that you got it new and in 'charging ' working order.
Usually the batteries have to be replaced after a number of charging. [you did not say how long you had the machine.
If you know how to do it, replace the batteries. If not get someone to do the job.The cost of batteries and labor.
