You have to go in under the dash on the passenger side so there will be vents and stuff you have to remove. under the hood are two hoses that run to it which you also have to disconnect as these go to the heater core.

I have a 1997 ford F150 4x4 king cab that has no heat. I have flushed the radiator, changed the heater core and flushed the heater hose. Still no heat.

Have any of you stopped to think that the Thermostadt may B bad especially after flushing the radiator replacing the heator cor Duh!!!!
Rplace the Thermostadt it will more then likley do the trick.
When the thermostadt goes out you will experiamce hot radiators no heat . ect.... first thing 95% of the people that experiance this replace the heator core first . no that you have elemanated the least obvious do the most

97 f150 noticed it leaking from a little tube on

if it is just the rubber hose going in, the rubber hose can be replaced. if the aluminum tube coming out of the firewall is leaking, it it part of the heater core, and the whole core will need to be replaced. good luck!

this is not a job for the faint of heart!! you have to remove the complete dash! the heater box is located hehind the radio !in the middle of the dash ! theres no way around!!!

97 ford f150 4.6 the pipe that gos to heater core hose is leaking. is this pipe pressed in? thanks

The inlet/outlet pipes (tubing) is an integral part of the heater core. If the actual core is leaking, you 'll need to remove and replace or repair the heater core. Be sure it's not the hose that is failing ... alot easier and cheaper to change out a hose and clamps...
