Question about Sylvania 6427TE 27" TV
After a recent storm, we went to turn on the TV and all it does is tic a few times and never turns on. Is it fixable?
Not economically. The ticking sound is a sure sign of high-voltage shutdown, and is coming from your flyback transformer - the most expensive part in the TV besides the picture tube. Even if it's not the flyback, troubleshooting the high voltage section is usually more than the cost of a new TV.
