I looked at the manual. YES YOU NEED A CONVERTER. This unit does not have a digital tuner. It is a fairly nice, low-resolution (not high-def) TV with an analog tuner..

Multiple ssid and encryption problem

If you are protecting your SSID's with passwords every device that connects or tries to connect will have to know or have that password. Usually password protecting the SSID's is not needed if you don't broadcast them.

Is there anyway to keep other peoples wireless internet connections from showing up on my computer

Unfortunately no, the wireless signals that your computer is picking up are openly being broadcast with their SSIDs available to be seen. It is a radio signal, just like on the radio in your car, you will not be able to block radio stations. The best suggestion is to just connect to your wireless connection and don't worry about the others as they are not hurting anything.

Can I connect an acer aspire one to a samsung TV

Yes, but it depends what outputs on the laptop, and inputs on the tv.
If they both have HDMI, then just link them up with a HDMI cable, go to the display settings in control panel and adjust the multi display settings ( clone or extend the desktop)
You may have to use a VGA d sub cable, this is ok, but you wont get any sound transfered with the picture.
I also found this advice.....

The Acer Aspire One doesn't have a TV output, but if your TV is modern, it may have component inputs.

If you have component inputs, then you can use a VGA to component convertor to output to the TV. You will need to set the video mode to something that will work on the TV, probably 640x480 at 60Hz If it is not an HDTV. Amazon sells a number of converters to go form a computer's VGA output to the component in use by most TVs today:
http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-VGA2CPNT-Component-Video-Converter/dp/B000G6Y0S6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1230836819&sr=1-1

If your TV only has S-Video, odds are that even if you use a converter, the quality on the TV will be poor - my experience using S-Video outputs from PCs is that the TV is just a blurry mess, you can't really even read text very well, and media looks like ****. Maybe the converter box will work better than the direct outputs I have experience with, but I honestly don't think that would be the case.

Here's a converter box that will make it easy, but the quality will be limited by the TV and S-Video input:
http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-VGA2NTSCPRO-High-Resolution-Converter-Control/dp/B00006B8EH/ref=pd_cp_e_2?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000G6Y0S6&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1D0SNBQSS0D1XTBY3K4N

So, you do have some options, but no guarantees on the quality level that you will get unless you have an HDTV.

Have you secured your wireless access from unauthorized access?
To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router’s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router’s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

I have a kenmore dryer model no. 110.96560100 that has

Wow, not sure how this listing got filed under a Network Firewall, other than the "Appliance" keyword, but here goes...

Your heating element is 1 of basically 3 parts that all need to function to get the heat going, the element is 1, the relay is 2, and the controller is 3. If you've replaced the element, then it must be the relay or controller of course.

CAREFULLY use a multimeter to test the voltage of the socket the elements connect to while they should be heating. If there's no voltage there, follow the socket's wires to a small box (probably 1-2" square) with 1-2 other wires coming from it. Test the voltage at the 2 other wires, or if there only one other wire, at the other wire and the element's black wire. If there's voltage there, it's probably a bad relay, which is much cheaper then the controller. If there's no voltage there, then it's the controller.

You cannot connect your acer aspire one via HDMI as its not having HDMI port. But you can connect via VGA cable and most of the TV supporting HDMI will also definitely support VGA input.

Is there a reason why the Sonicwall needs to do the PPPOE auth? You should be able to let the modem do the PPPOE connection and have the Sonicwall behind it. The Sonic wall will get a private IP address. Andy
