Question about LG Over-the-Range Microwave
Quick pop sound then food no longer heated. does not make pop noise after first time. tryed resetting breaker. Could the Maganatron be bad? it has aten year warranty, but not on labor. would it be better to buy another OTR Microwave?
If it's within warranty, I'd exercise that and get it fixed.
Usually, if it appears to run, but isn't heating, the magnetron has gone bad. It's not a cheap part, and not really a DIY (do-it-yourself) operation. If your warranty covers the part, that will help a lot.
Even if not within warranty, I'd have an authorized service center do the job. They should have a list of authorized outlets with your manual and other literature. They can also give you a quote as to how much it will cost - - only you can make that call.
I had a magnetron replaced once, it was spendy, but ~20 years ago, microwaves were a lot more expensive than they are now.
If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.
