Dishwaser Fills But Does Not Run

I started my dishwasher and it filled. The cycle timer counted down, but the dishwasher did not wash. The machine was silent. At the end of the cycle, the machine drained. What gives?

    I start the dishwasher as usual. But it just counts down...no water, no heat, no sound.

You may have a problem with the spray arm being blocked or the water valve may not be letting a sufficient amount of water through to get the spray arms activated. If the dishwasher is still in warranty schedule service before it runs out. GE customer service number is 800-626-2000 model and serial numbers and purchase dates are helpful. Ask specifically if any kits are available to fix these problems and if GE is willing to make any concession toward this repair. Good Luck.

Check belt, but a lot of different possibilities on this problem. Best to call service.

Bosch washing machine starts filling with water, then does nothing, timer counts down but no movment
have a technician check it out as it may be a board problem
normally the fill level switch ,when the set water level is reached activates 2 things
it stops the water in and at the same time moves the program on to start the wash cycle
so it is either that switch or the program board

I start the washer on a cycle, it fills for 3.5 seconds clicks and stops filling. The timer continues to count down with nothing happening. Eventually it gets an F21 error. I have cleared the drain.
check ur water inlet valve with a meter for voltage and for continuity

My maytag washer when i start it it fills then the cycle starts the timer will count down til it get to 13 min then jumps down to 3 min then shuts off it skips the wash cycle and the rinse cycle befor
sounds like you have a problem with the main control board. you can order a new one from appliancerepair.com and if it turns out not to be the problem they allow you to return it for a full refund. great company!

Sounds like your motor is burned out. The drain motor and wash motor are seperate on your machine. You can check for power going to the motor, but to do this you might have to pull the dishwasher out. While the cycle is running check for 120 VAC going into the motor. If you are getting power and nothing is happening, you will need to replace the motor, otherwise you will need to replace the motor control board located at the base of the machine.

It fills and agitates. Fills up then stops, makes a buzzing noise and will not drain or spin. What could be wrong?
in order to accurately diagnose this i will need the model number, but it could be that your lid switch is faulty, therefore not allowing your washer to go into a spin cycle. for safety reasons. another cause of this could be from a bad timer, if your timer stops after the agitation cycle and does not continue to count down then you have a bad timer.

Washer won't advance from cycle to cycle
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

* It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never
advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace
the timer.


* It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates,
drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Fills but does not wash
Hi!
That happens when for some reason any of the two drain/spin cycles are interrupted. Try this:
have the washer empty, then set the machine to run the last cycle to the end of it, when you usually
lift the cover to take out the clothes, that ought to do it, I had the same problem when diagnosing a
timer problem.
