Question about Sansui Flat Panel Televisions

1 Answer

TV isn't displaying pc image

I just recently bought a 19" flat lcd tv to hook my laptop into. I've tried several times to get the image to appear with no success. I've adjusted the laptop settings as instructed by the manual, but still no luck. Is there something I've missed in the book or in the settings? If you could please respond with any help I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Double check your refresh rate. It must be set for 60hz for Sansui tv's.

Standby light stays on and does not allow me to turn screen on

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

I just bought a 19 inch flat tv with the dvd player and pc input. I hooked it up to my computer with the vga cable and it says it doesn't recognize the format. what am I doing wrong?

Set the screen resolution, on the PC, to a low initial setting say 800x600 32bit, and also ensure your Video Out is set right either PAL or NTSC depending on what your TV receives. Make sure you have activated dual display "Extend windows desktop to here" under Video Properties, (Right Click Desktop)...and finally plug in to TV, turn on, and THEN boot up.

Mine works but the picture display is wobbly at the sides.

It is most likely that you are trying run a high resolution to a large 42 inch TV and the graphics card may not be able to handle that. Try reducing the resolution on that tv signal from your desktop settings.

I have a tv i want to hook up to my computer

I have the same emerson set.
I had the same problem the first time I hooked it up to the computer.
All I had to do was change my display settings.
To do this, click the start button, go to control panel.
In control panel, double click the display icon.
Click the settings tab.
Look for the screen resolution slider bar, and move it all the way to the left (CLICK APPLY)
NOW HOOK UP YOUR TV, AND IT SHOULD WORK FINE (YOU MAY NEED TO ADJUST THE SLIDER TO FIT YOUR SCREEN SIZE)

Good luck to you
