Question about Refrigerators

Super slow water pressure from GE Profile refirgerator

The water pressure coming out of the external water dispenser has become increasingly slower, and it's also impacting the amount of ice being made. Any suggestions?

It is possible that your water filters are getting plugged. Have you changed any filters lately?
The meat pan lever may also be turned to the coldest position and on units that have a low water usage, this will also cause the tank to freeze. You will want to lower the meat drawer setting or use more water from the door. This does not apply to Top Mount water dispenser models, because they do not have a reservoir. Problem requiring service, glass fill time.

  • Dispenser drips water constantly will be a water valve problem, and should be checked by a service technician. If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 or schedule a service appointment on-line.

  • Dribble as defined as a small amount of water (few drops) that may miss the glass ONLY AFTER USAGE. This is due to a delay in the overall system.

Dribble can be minimized by the following actions:

    - Purge the tank, by holding down the dispenser for 2 to 3 minutes, to remove any trapped air that may be building pressure and causing the dribble.
    - A few drops is normal, but you can also prevent water from missing the glass and dripping down the cradle area by moving glass slower when removing it from the cradle.
    - You may need to periodically empty the recess grill and clean out underneath it to prevent overfilling and water dripping down the front of the refrigerator.

  • Also, remember the dispenser in the door will not operate unless the door is closed

Water dispenser in the freezer door has a constant slow drip, how do I fix it?

You will need to replace the water valve. It is located in the back rear of refrigerator. If it is leaking by then you will see drip. Before you replace valve make sure the water pressure of water supply is proper. The valves will not seal properly without proper pressure.

Decreased water flow from dispenser GE GSS25WGTA refrigerator

This is usually caused by the water inlet valve not opening all the way or it got clogged up. The valve assembly will need to be replaced, don;t try cleaning it out it will likely cause a clog further up the tube. They are usually pretty inexpensive and easy to replace. Sounds like your water valve may need changing, and has filled up with sediment, slowing the water flow.

Ge profile refrigerator slow water dispenser

you have a seperate valve for ice maker and water dispenser, though it is possible both could have debris preventing proper water flow, i would check the water pressure you have going into the valve solenoid housing. turn off water to fridge, disconnect the line at the fridge, not in basement at saddle valve. place end of tube in bucket, turn on water. how is pressure? good or slow? if its good, then you probably do need to replace valve solenoid housing. You can NOT clear debris out of these, they must be replaced.
If your water pressure is still not good, either y ou have a kink in plastic water line. Despite having changed saddle valve in basement, if the stem of saddle valve is mounted on bottom half of pipe, debris from pipe is getting into water line and so on. Ge profile arctica side by side- ice maker and water dispenser not working..have already replaced the water filter

The water dispenser and the icemaker both operate on different soleniods on the water valve so the chances of a bad valve are slim. I would assume you issue is in your water supply. The easiest thing you could try first would be to check your saddle valve that taps into your main water line to supply the ref. They are known for calcium deposits which obstruct the flow of water. This issue is IDed by very slow water pressure through th door. If its gunked your icemaker fill tube may also be frozen.

How to increase water dispenser pressure

I've found that the dispenser pressure is directly related to the position of the water supply valve. If the shut off valve at the house water pipe that supplies water to the frig is not open completely or is partially blocked, you will get poor pressure at the dispenser. Open the valve more or replace it.

I have a side by side GE refrigerator and the water dispenser is leaking quite a bit. It looks like is leaks where the water is dispensed.

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.
