If you have a Factory Restore CD from Acer, you can boot the laptop with that in the drive, and it will start you on the process of restoring it to the factory configuration.

Be sure your firewall is activated. You can chose to use the windows firewall pre-installed on your Netbook or you can activate the firewall in you anti-virus package.
Run a cleaning software designed for detecting spyware on a regular basis to maintain Netbook processing speed and to remove items picked up by your Netbook while surfing the web. CCleaner is a solid free version of spyware cleaner.
If you suspect malware on your computer because it is running slowly, has strange pop ups or the anti-virus software detects it, then download software designed to find spyware and eliminate spyware. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, A-squared Free and SuperAntiSpywate Free are free versions of adware removal tool to consider. These tools get rid of spyware when used individually or in tandem. Continue to run the software until all spyware, viruses and malware are removed.

Hi, I want to reboot my acer aspire 4736z as the internet explorer is not working. pls help

Hi,

It appears that Internet Explorer is corrupted on your computer, you can restore the computer back to factory default, to do so, follow the below steps:
Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.

NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

Hi,

To restore the computer to factory settings, you can use the hidden recovery partition in the computer. Please restart and press and hold the F10 key to access the recovery partition. From the recovery tools window, please select "Restore C Drive" to get back the factory installed settings in the computer.

Ie sync client has stopped working

Hi. If your Issue is about your internet explorer then you could just try using a different browser like mozilla firefox or google chrome, about the performance of your computer you can clean some files on your C: drive or perform a virus scan, or if you want you could restore your system to its original factory settings by accessing the Recovery Partition on your laptop, by the way before you restore your system make sure that you have a backup of all your important files on a flash drive or on a external harddrive because when you use the One Key Recovery (OKR) it would delte everything on your computer and restore it to its original settings just like the first time you got your machine. The way to acces the OKR is to press the NOVO button or the small button just beside the power button and make sure that the ac adapter is plugin to your computer, and from there just choose system recovery and it will guide you to the whole process of recovering you machine. hope this helps

1. Install another browser: For e.g. FLOCK
2. Are you able to browse?

If so then we have isolated the problem to Internet Explorer:

1. Which version of IE are you using?

Either way:
1. uninstall it completely
2. Download and reinstall the latest version of IE

And just in case please do a VIRUS SCAN:
1. DiskClean up of C drive (always do this before a virus scan)
2. Total Virus Scan of Hard Disk (make sure Virus application is updated first)

About System Restore:
Windows does not allow you do to a restore from before it happened because it did not save any restore date from prior to (perhaps system restore is not enabled so be sure to double check this); therefore:

1. You're going to have to try to fix this isolated problem manually

OR

2. RESTORE to factory settings: take all ur data off and restore to factory settings and then put ur data back thereafter.

Resetting Internet Explorer.

When you reset Internet Explorer settings, all add-ons and customizations are deleted, and you basically start with a fresh version of Internet Explorer. This article helps you reset Internet Explorer.

To have us reset Internet Explorer for you, go to the “Fix it for me” section. If you would rather reset Internet Explorer yourself, see how to do it in the "Show me how to do it" section or go to the “Let me do it myself” section.

If the problem is caused by damaged or incompatible Internet Explorer settings or add-ons, you can usually resolve the problem by resetting Internet Explorer settings.

To use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature from Control Panel, follow these steps:
  1. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
  2. If you use Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run. Type the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER: inetcpl.cplIf you use Windows Vista, click Start
Type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER: inetcpl.cplThe Internet Options dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
  5. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.
  6. Start Internet Explorer again.
For detailed information about the changes that the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature makes on your computer, go to the "How the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature works" section.

I have had this problem on another computer once, we just ended up doing a restore unfortunatly. There are a few other things you can try first though.

First try restoring internet explorer to factory settings. This can be done by going to IE's internet options> Advanced> Restore to factory settings(or something similar). This may take a few minutes depending on the amount of changes you have made to your IE browser and how big your temporary internet files folder is.

If this does not work, then run a complete virus/malware scan, then clean the registry using a registry cleaner(this is optional, but this can solve a lot of problems).

If this does not work, then run a full 5 step check disk on your c:/ drive or whatever drive has windows. This will correct any corrupt files, and some bad settings if they exist. (My Computer> right click on C drive>Properties>Tools(tab)>check disk) Make sure you click both boxes so that it does automatic correction.

If none of this works, then there are still a few other options, but they become more elaborate and time consuming.
