My Ascaso Dream has always run beautifully, & made beautiful coffee. Lately though, there's been some temperamental steam wand issues; every now & then when I flick the steam switch on, the temperature indicator shows that things are heating up nicely as they should, but when I turn the dial to start steaming the milk absolutely nothing happens; no steam, no sound, no water, no nothing. I touch the wand & it's almost cool to the touch. But then the next day, it might be fine, perfectly frothed milk. Currently it's not fine, there is no action from the wand whatsoever, but it continues to pour a beautiful coffee. I'm on the blacks until I can get some advice. Help anyone?
You should descale the machine, as you may have a blockage in the steam tap.
When descaling make sure that the descaled water goes through the steam wand as well as the group. JURA descaling tablets
SOURCE: Ascaso Dream water leak & bad shots
Hi
Sounds like you have a leak in the system. If your handy, you can remove the top. Remove everything. Water tank included. Unplug the machine. Now turn the machine upside down on a towel. There are 2 screws behind the brew head. Remove them, then lift the machine off the top and set it right side up. Now you can see the inside of the machine where the boiler is. Do not touch anything inside the machine. Replace everything and plug the machine in. Now turn the machine on and try to make a shot the same way. This should show you where your trouble is. Once you see where the trouble is, unplug the machine. Contact seattlecoffeegear.com, or 1st-line.com. They can help.
