Question about JVC Sirius KD-LH300 CD Player

1 Answer

JVC KD-LH300 I've had the player for approx 1.5 yrs. About 6 months ago it suddenly stopped playing mp3's in mid song. The id3 display still showed the song but the timer didn't move on the song. I ejected the cd and it would not play any other cd's . I tried resetting the unit several times with no luck. After a few days it suddenly started playing again. It was fine until about 2 weeks ago when the same thing happened. I've tried all the same things even a few new things includind disconnecting the battery altogether to try to reset and nothing. Has anybody else experienced this problem.

JVC KD-LH300 Display

Sounds like the problem is a contact point in the face itself. The only way to know for sure is to find a local car audio shop that's a JVC dealer, see if you can get a new face or if they are aware of the problem, I've answered this question a few times so I'm sure a shop may even keep those replacement faces in stock. Hope this helps

Not reading MP3 cds

Have you tried removing the negative terminal from your car battery and giving it a few minutes. Hook the terminal back up and try your cd player again? That should be the same as resetting your cd player settings.

Sounds like you have a problem with the mp3 format being used.

JVC KD-LH300 problem

Any after-market CD player needs voltage on the yellow wire and on the red wire before it will turn on. The yellow wire is for a constant power source, and the red is for a key-switched power source. When you hook it up to your battery using only the yellow wire and the ground wire, it's similar to having it in your dash without turning the key on; ie, it will load and eject, but won't power up and play with the key off. Turning the key on sends voltage to the red wire.
