Its your pump.get at it thru the back.it may be blocked or may have failed.a volt meter will tell you if its getting voltage.if so should drain, make sure on about spin setting to check.ive had to replace the pump on my neptune

two problems here,
your shaft seal is running on its last leg
the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars
sory for the bad news
I would check the motor control board located near the floor on the right side for burnt components. The motor is a 3 phase unit and if one of the phases are working the motor will growl and won't be able to supply the proper torque.

. Does your Maytag Neptune front loader sound like a runaway freight train when it is in high speed spin cycle?
2. Is your Neptune getting so loud that you cannot be in the same room while it is spinning your clothes?
It sounds like your bearings may need some attention if you answered YES to the questions
