Question about Singer 3116 Simple

Singer Simple bottom thread is loose

I was sewing just fine with my Singer Simple sewing machine, but I ran out of thread on my bobbin and replaced it. Ever since then, when I sew, the threads on the underside of the fabric bunch up, are loose, etc. I figured it was a bobbin tension issue, but everything I read says not to touch the bobbin tension unless you absolutely have to.
I tried changing the tension of my top thread and that did nothing to help or hinder.

when I'm sewing two layers of denim, all is well. When I introduce my cording (wrapped in muslin), the thread mucks up on the bottom (loose etc).

Hi, the thread on the underside of my sewing keeps looping and is loose, how do I stop this? It sounds like there is a slipping clicking with the bobbin

NO MATTER HOW I ADJUST THE THREAD TENSION ON MY SINGER 2950, IT CONTINUES TO SEW LOOSE BOTTOM STITCHES. THE TOP STITCH IS FINE, I HAVE RETHREADED THE MACHINE AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

someplace I read hat on some of these newer machines we need to hold the bobbin so it gets into the tension slot , which we can not see . while bringing the bobbin thread up thru the needle hole . I did try it and it is simple to do . just leave the bobbin cover off till you get ready to sew .

My top stich is tight, but bottom is loose of my singer sewing machine.

Think in opposites... the top stitch is formed by the bottom thread tension and the bottom of the stitch by the top. So either the bobbin thread is too tight or the top thread is too loose. Check the bobbin thread first as that is the one most overlook. It should come out of the bobbin without having to yank it hard but it should have a little resistance.

Bottom thread too loose; tried rethreading top thread, cleaning bobbin case, refilling bobbin, changing needle, adjusting top tension

Check for correct bottom thread tension.
It's provided by a flat spring on the bobbin holder.
When the bobbin is correctly installed, pulling on the thread
should meet with slight resistance, and the bobbin should spin without
trying to jump out of the bobbin holder.

My Simple Singer sewing machine will not thread the bobbin thread. For some reason it will not pick up the bobbin thread from the bottom of the machine, does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Your needle may be in backwards, flat side should face rear of the machine or you bobbin is unwinding in the wrong direction, refer to your manual and dvd. Call Singer at 1-800-4singer if problem persists. Good luck

Thread bunces up on the bottom causing machine to

I would start by looking for a problem with the bobbin tension. Do you have the bobbin threaded through the case correctly? Is the the bobbin tension set to loose? Another thing that can cause it to spool up on the bottom is if it sews a bunch of stitches all in the same spot or real close, do you have the presser foot tension to loose?

Singer touch n sew 750 winding bobbins

You can find Singer bobbin winding instructions at http://www.singerco.com/resources/bobbin_wind.html.
"Birdnesting" occurs when there is no tension on the needle thread to pull the bobbin thread. This is easily corrected by rethreading the machine, following the threading path carefully and making sure the thread is fully engaged in the tension mechanism.

I am not sure about this particular machine but in most machines there will be a nob on the front loose low numbers like 0 1 -2 work well on number 3. If the nob is not on the front check and see if it is on the side.

Singer Simple.....not really!

You really should go on the Singer website and look up support and frequently asked questions. If, you cannot find your manual they have it there to download for free. I really think that you are not threading the machine right, check it with the presser foot up and the thread should feed freely, then lower the presser foot and it should not feed at all or very little. Most of the bunching of thread underneath is the fault of the top thread not the bobbin. Make sure you turn the handwheel towards you never away from you. Also, check your needle, inserted flat side away from you and, if it were me, I would use a new needle before I sewed again, This machine comes with a dvd, try watching it.
