I bought my laptop about 8months ago but it already stopped burning CDs. When ever I tried to burn one, I got a popup message saying "no data", while I insert a working music/video CD.
Wondering if it's something that I can just update some drivers so it will start working again.
thanks,

- thanks
cenobite, yes, it's still under warranty. I may check with Toshiba if I can't restore it by uninstalling the drive in the device manager as you suggest.
You can try uninstalling the drive in the device manager and letting windows reinstall the device. If that doesn't do it, try to boot from the drive with a Windows CD. If it does boot it is more than likely a Windows issue. If not then you may need to replace the drive. I am guessing it is still under warranty so call the manufacturer and check warranty status. If you do have to have it replaced I would suggest backing up your data as they don't guarantee your data will be safe and they may exchange your machine.
Cheers

- Does it boot from the drive with a Windows CD disk or another bootable CD? Did you test it? That is the best way to check it. If it doesn't boot from a CD or DVD then the drive is toast. Let me know how it works out.
