In most cases the front jacks are in addition to the rear ones. It's not an either/or situation. If the speakers are connected to the rear jacks (usually green for speakers and pink for mic) and there is no sound, you might have a problem with the onboard sound. Try connecting to the rear jacks with a good set of speakers and try it out. If this doesn't work then we can go from there.

That's cause the front audio connectors are not connected.. To do this open up the tower.. Now locate the wires from the front connector.. Its labled j audio.. Now on the main board there is a jack for it,, some pins labled audio as well if its not labled then look for the pins in the same fashion of the jack.. If u see some plastic jumpers bridiging 2 pins remove it.. Plug in your front audio connector.. That's it your done..

Which color is the input jack for recording

On the front panel, the audio jack on the left side when looking at the front of the computer is the mic jack. On the back, look for the pink jack in the audio panel area. This is the mic. I included a picture of it below.

Headphone jack broke off inside

yes, you could easily open the computer and physically remove the wires from the mother board for the front audio jack. These are pin headers. Most all the time they are labeled.

The rear audio should already be working from the green jack. If not, then perhaps you have the RealTek Audio chipset and software. The realtek audio software generally has a orange speaker icon in the system tray. You can double click to open it, go to the Audio I/O tab and then click the little wrench icon. It will open the connector setting. On the connector settings screen is a checkbox. Disable front panel jack detection. Uncheck that, also a check box for Mute rear panel output when fron headphone plugged in, UNCHECK this. That should do it.

If you want to try further to remove the broken jack make sure the machine is off, use a very tiny needle nose pliers (electronic type) you should be able to pull it out.

What kind of computer do you have? You could also possibly remove the jack assembly from the inside, so you can get a better view for the extraction of the plug.

No audio sound, mic doesn't work.

Hi,
For audio please install the mother board audio drivers for your PC. The driver cd is provide with motherboard when it is purchased. If this doesn't work, try connecting the speaker jack to front panel of your cpu.
For mic to work properly, make sure you connected the pink color jack of the speaker to the pink port of the cpu(Back side of cpu).
If did nor find drivers, download it from the internet by giving the motherboard type and the number.
I hope it should work now. Thank you
