Re: when the power come on it makes a Popping sound
Classic convergence driver failure for this unit. I call it "the thumps." Convergence drivers are two large chips inside (STK392-110), one of which has gone bad, but both need to be replaced. There are also several resistors around the drivers that have also sustained damage and need to be replaced. I recommend a television shop do the work for you because, unless you have good, solid soldering skills, the board can be rendered unusable by excessive heat/prying, etc., and the HD input can be **permanently disabled** by opening the back of the Television without properly preparing it.

It can be a couple things. Something bad on the power board. Or the vertical output circuit. How long ago did you purchase the television. Your best course of action is to have it serviced. If you need any information or other assistance let me know. Thanks, Lee
Inspect for damaged pin on INPUT 1 socket. (left most of the three HDMI connectors)
A quick pull on the cable can damage the pins.
If you see mis-aligned pins then please power off the set before making corrective action.
Here's a textbook instruction from Mitsubishi

I keep seeing this kind of problems with lcd and other flat screen tv's
In order for a lcd, plasma, or dlp screen to power up, it requires a quick start system, and it uses capacitors to achieve this Those capacitors are fragile, and all it takes is a quick on off on again, and ...pop!
The capacitors are more than likely blown. If your t.v. is under warranty, I would take it to the place you bought it for repairs, as this can be an expensive repair job. Depending on how many of the capacitors failed, if could cost almost as much as the tv itself to fix it.
Turn down the volume and see if you still hear it,a loud pop or snap could be high voltage call your servicer in your area ASAP
while its under warranty and have him check the high voltage circuits for a intermittenting pop or snap. And have the model # ready!! Good Luck!
it sound as the menu button is staked, is a easy job for a tech, but dificult one for regular people, better get a tech and let him know that you know the problem is the menu button, thas gonna help with the price off the repair...good luck
