Classic convergence driver failure for this unit. I call it "the thumps." Convergence drivers are two large chips inside (STK392-110), one of which has gone bad, but both need to be replaced. There are also several resistors around the drivers that have also sustained damage and need to be replaced. I recommend a television shop do the work for you because, unless you have good, solid soldering skills, the board can be rendered unusable by excessive heat/prying, etc., and the HD input can be **permanently disabled** by opening the back of the Television without properly preparing it.

Ridgid planer. Why does it plane correctly for a while, then in the middle of a board makes a popping sound, stops all forward motion and leaves a dent in the board similar to a snipe?

This is weird. Sounds like it could be a few things. I would start with ensuring that the bearings on the cutterhead are not worn out. Do this by grasping the cutterhead with the power disconnected and try to wiggle to see if there is slop-There should be NONE. Also, while there, ensure the blades are not loose. The next thing is to ensure that the blades are sharp. If not, they could be causing large tearout (Hence, the pop)which could lead to the board popping upwards and sniping. The last thing to check would be that the infeed/outfeed pressure rollers are doing there job to hold down the board. Good luck!

Vizio SV47XVT 47inch Screen flickers and makes popping sound through speakers what do I need to replace.

This is a power supply and/or possibly inverter(s) board bad capacitors. Since the audio is affected it could be both. Be aware that attempting to repair it yourself could cause irreparable damage to your TV.

I heard two popping sounds and now my television will not power on.

A popping sound as you describe sounds as if your tv blew a couple capicators on the main control board. More than likely , you are needing to aquire a new main circuit board.

I have a jvc/av-65wp74 unit. The screen went blank and made a pop, pop, popping sound. we could not shut it off with the power button, which was blinking off and on. We had to unplug from the wall. we waited...

Try unplugging the Convergence amp board, which is located behind the speaker grille. If the set will power up with the Convergence amps unplugged the ICs will need replacement. I have seen many JVC in both the WP30 and WP74 pop through the speakers when the ICs short. Unplugging them takes them out of the equation and the set will power up but the pic will have severe convergence issues.

Popping and Humming noise from my audio system?

Ground Loop Isolators are nice, but if you want truly crystal clear sound, you will need to run a common ground. All electronics will need to be run close to the amp, as more than about 3 feet of ground wire from the amp can cause sound issues. When I ran my common ground, I connected my radio and satellite together, and ran one sigle ground wire to the backseat of my car, where the amp grounds are located. This will optimize the clarity of the sound coming through the speakers. For the popping sound in the speakers when the car is powered on or off, you need to see if the radio itself has a wire to power the remote connection on the amp. Most of the time, they will, and this is the wire you will use to turn on the amp itself, as it delays each item powering on and reduces the chance of popping in the speakers. DO NOT run the remote wire from the amp to the accessory wire of the radio, as this will cause the popping sound you are hearing. If the radio does not have an Amp Turn-on wire, then you may need to improvise by using an accessory wire in another location, but even this is may cause popping as well. The pop comes from multiple things turning on at once, so the Amp Turn-on wire delays the amps for just a moment, preventing the pops.
