I have a clamshell g3 ibook, I installed new memory, to install 10.3 and I don't have the restore disk for the 9.2 program, I tried to install the 10.3 and it won't allow me to erase the hard drive, when I go into the driver utilities, everything is grayed out so I can't select anything, what can I do without the 9 restore disk, and can I erase the hard drive, I get a message that the hard drive is full, so installation can't be completed.
I take it that you just want to run 10.3 and no longer require OS9. After starting from the OSX install disc, run Disc Utilities. Form there you can erase the hard drive. You should then be able to install OSX.

It sounds like your start up files are either missing or corrupt. You need to reboot with your system disk in the cd rom (hold down the "C" key as you restart) or do a fresh install of an OS.
To restore an iBook G3 to factory settings you need the installation CDs that came with the iBook. Ask your friend to find them. Sometimes you can purchase replacement sets on eBay, but they have to be for your exact model. Please realize that the original installation CDs that came with this iBook will contain OS 9, not OS X, so I question whether you really want to restore this machine "to factory settings." What you may choose to do instead is a "clean install" from a more recent retail OS X CD or DVD.
The clamshell ibooks came with either OS 8.6 or OS 9 on them. If you are just looking to start over from scratch, then you can use a standard OS 9 CD and have them do a complete re-install. I say this without knowing the nature of the problems they are having.
like the other person said, just boot from an os installer cd and do a clean install,it should completely wipe out any locks. when booted from the cd,go to the utilities folder on the disk and choose disk setup and reformat your hard drive, then do a clean install.
If your OS is System 10, Go to home and find application folder, there you can find iMovie icon and double click it.
or If your system is OS 9.0 or 9.2, double click your system folder which is on the desktop and then find the application folder, there you can find the iMovie icon, double click it and thats it.or If you have the Operating System CD installer, try browsing the CD and open all packages content. There you will find iMovie installer and install it. Thats it!
Look at the keyboard, in the row of Function Keys at the top are two clips, located about an inch in from each side of the keyboard, use your fingernails to pull the clips towards you and lift off the keyboard, the memory door is located under the keyboard.
