Turn the cartridge the other way and try pushing it in with the game name facing towards you. This should work.

When i plug in and turn on without a game in it, the v tech display comes on so system is working. but as soon as i put a game in it(3 different games) the game doesn't come on. i've tried putting game...

you have to do this in the right order or it doesn't work. Start with the TV and Vsmile OFF
step 1) put the cartridge in and make sure it is all the way in
step 2) turn the TV on
step 3) turn the Vsmile on
if it still doesn't work, unplug the adapter or take the batteries out and let the system clear and then do the steps over. Good luck!

Cant get the game to start

First: Go to System settings. Scroll down to restore to factory default settings. Click on Yes and re-set them. Power down your PS3. Unplug the power cord from it for 2 minutes. While it is unplugged, unplug your wireless router for 30 seconds. Plug it back in. Now plug your PS3 back up and turn the power on. If this doesn't fix the isue then do the following: On your XMB dashboard, there will be two files. One is for game updates, the other is for game progress. Delete all of these for Guitar Hero. Turn the PS3 off. Turn it back on and re-install the update for the game. Any downloadable content that you paid for thru the Playstation can be re-downloaded for free! Yes, you will have to start your progress from square zero, but you will be able to play your game! If not then you ave other issues. If it is a Guitar Hero issue go to http://www.activision.com/guitarhero/support and start a RMA warranty request. If it is a PS3 issue, go to http://www.us.playstation.com and click support. Then click on service and see if your unit is still under warranty. (One year from purchase date-receipt required) Warranty claims for the PS3 generally take about 14 days! Fastest warranty service I have ever seen! Good Luck and Happy Gaming! If this fixed your problem, please rate how helpful it was!

It is possible that the audio cables were plugged into one port on the TV, such as Video 1, Aux, etc. and the yellow video cable was plugged into a different port such as Video 2, Aux 2, etc. Make sure the yellow cord is in the same port as the red/white. If that fails, Things you can try to get the V.Smile TV Learning System to work:
1) Press the Reset – Press and hold the ON button for about 10 seconds
2) Make sure the game is inserted far enough into the system, and that it is pointing in the right direction. You may occasionally need to clean the contacts.
3) Also, make sure you are using the supplied power cord/adapter, not batteries. Batteries cause more problems than they’re worth.

My daughter v smile pocket does not work

Sounds like the contacts on the games need to be cleaned. On the game cartridge, push back the little cover and clean the gold colored contacts on both sides. I use a cotton ball or q-tip with alcohol on it. Let it dry before you put it back in the v.smile.

V smile learning systems keeps restarting

Unplug the system from the power supply for about 15 seconds and try one more time. If that fails:
Make sure the power cord is plugged in and that the red/white/yellow cables are plugged properly into the TV. Also, as you plug the red/white/yellow cables into the TV, make sure you turn the TV to the right channel - it is different for every TV. For instance, the red/white/yellow on the front of my Sony is labelled Video 2 - yours might be labelled FRONT, AUX, or something else.

Also, you mentioned SCART. If your TV is in Europe, and the unit you have was designed for the US, the power supply isn't going to power the unit without an additional transformer. Also, the US models might have a native color system that is incompatible with PAL.
