Samsung tv loses picture after 25 minutes, tv tries to restart with no luck. read details for more info.

So far,I replaced bulb with the correct, expensive bulb, Nothing changed. The first time of the day it will stay on for 25-35 minutes, then bulb goes out. unplug tv, let sit for 110-15 minutes, restart and it stays on for 5-10 minutes. It would seem that once components are warmed up that the picture wont stay on as long. I can turn the tv on and off several times within first few minutes and bulb lights every time. after that, it goes thru the 3 times on its own and stops trying. ive checked the door switch and even bypassed for time being, the temp switch and fans all work. no odd noises from color wheel. Whats the next step? im leaning towards replacing ballast...

SOURCE: Lamp Light still on after replacement

First, A common mistake made is when you insert the orange ribbon cable from the Color Wheel into the DMD bd. To correctly insert the Ribbon Cable you need to look at both sides. You will see a shiny silver side and a dull black/orange side. You must insert the shiny silver side AWAY from the Color Wheel or towards the rear of the set. Now for the Ballast. When you power up the tv,Do you hear a short Buzzing sound? If you do that means that the Ballast is trying to fire up the Lamp and is working. Next, do you hear the Color Wheel spin up? If you do not then you have installed the Color Wheel incorrectly and you need to repeat the installation while making sure that you hold the rubber gasket in perfect place or else it won,t work. Chances are the gasket is in the wrong position and is binding the Glass Wheel. The Ballast is on the right side of the engine and on top of the Lamp Housing. You will see two RED High Voltage wires coming out of one end. Don't worry, there is no stored voltage in the ballast so you won't get a shock providing you have unplugged the tv from the outlet. That is the first step before you change any parts any way. Listen for the correct start sequence. With the rear backing off and the Safety Interlock Switch is being held in the up position, turn on the set. First sound you hear is a clicking which is the power on relay engageing. Then you will hear the fans turn on and then the Color Wheel spin up. Once the Color Wheel spins up and comes to full RPM then the Exciter on the Ballast will Buzz for less than half a second and then the Lamp should light up. Now if you have installed the correct Lamp and correctly installed the Color Wheel and you either are holding up the Interlock Switch or have reinstalled the rear cover and tightened all of the screws you should have a working tv.

SOURCE: Samsung HLP4674W - changed bulb - still no picture - lights flash

If the lamp has been replaced I would think the Lamp ballast would be most likliest followed by the color wheel and then the Digital board. You can get any part needed for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com just leave them a email they respond quickly.

My samsuNg PS42A410C1D has no picture. i cant bring up any menus or anything see anything but it is producing sound

The most likely thing is that your screens backlight or inverter has gone faulty.
When you turn it on, you may be able to see a very very dark image of something (best seen by activating the TV menu). On some screens the picture is still far too dark to be visible though.
With this kind of fault, its down to fitting a new inverter, and if that doesn't cure it, then fitting a new backlight bulb (or bulbs) will sort it out, but these are not jobs that can be done without some expertise at them.
Most TV inverters are large circuit boards inside, and take about 20-30 minutes to change as the whole TV has to be dismantled, but the backlight bulbs are much more complicated (and extremely fragile too).
Unfortunately, there's not much else that can be done except trying changing those 2 parts. Although its possible for the screen cable inside to become disconnected and lose your picture, that results in the screen lighting up brightly (usually pure white if the cable comes off completely).

50" DLP Samsung HDTV

That sounds like one of 2 things:
  1. Color wheel
  2. Light engine
Color wheel because of the losing color, but the light engine because of the picture freeze. It's very difficult to judge since I can't be there to see it. I'm leaning toward the light engine though. The only fix is to replace the DMD board, or entire light engine.

I turned on my samsung 25' tv this morning it showed well and then the tv went blank no sound or picture. when i listen keenly to the tv i hear a slight hummimg sound. what could be wrong with the TV

it could be a bulb went out. I advise to call a tech to take a look at it. If its a CRT TV you can replace the bulb, however now a days its not that easy anymore and cost alot more. I hope this will get you on the correct path, wish you the best!

Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

HLP5067W Going on and off

Sounds like the bulb needs to be replaced. With the tv you have the Bulb last about 6000-8000 hours. If you think that is about right then you it most likely is time ro replace. You should be able to find the replacement bulb from the manufacture and then find it online to purchase.

Samsung tv turning off by itself

I had a similar problem where my 61" Samsung DLP was turning itself off very frequently I had resolved to try replacing the bulb. I called a local TV repair place to see if they had my buld in stock. The guy I spoke to actually told me how to fix my problem! There is a little blue switch behind the bulb access door. The inside of the door has a little piece that presses the switch down. The switch is supposed to work correctly weather the switch is in the up or down position but samsung forgot to take expansion from heat into account. If the switch is held in the upper position by the door and the plastic expands to a certain point, it triggers the set to shut off. This does not occur of the switch is held in the lower position. What you need to do is take the access door off and put it back on by sliding it into position from above. That will hold the switch in the down position, eliminating the problem. My set has not **** itself off ever since.

Replaced bulb and converge problems

After replacing a Picture tube convergence/geometry allignments can be quite extensive and if they're not fairly precise the sensors for the auto conv. can not be calibrated therefore your auto conv. not working as you described. The key is usually the geometry start with the green lines and get them as square as you can then align the red/blue. Since the auto is not going to blue that often means the blue is to far out and the sensors are not picking it up.
