Every time I turn on the camera, it flashes this 10/01/03 date at me and asks me to update it. I actually can't even figure out how to set the time to anything different. Please help -- this is really annoying!

For some reason out of the blue (I've had the camera for about 2 years) my date/time won't set. It accepts it when I put it in but then when I turn the camera off and back on then the first screen shows Date Setup with the date 10/01/03. I have taken some picutures already that I noticed have the wrong date. Not good for progressive shots.

SOURCE: time & date reset

Very often the date/time is maintained by a very small watch type battery built into the main board - there is no opportunity to replace this.

SOURCE: my D.C does not keep the date

Exit the menu that comes up about time & date when you turn it on. Then press the menu button, use the left navigation button, then scroll down to date & time, and set it there. For some reason when it comes up the navigation buttons won't let you set the time, but when accessed from the menu, it will.

SOURCE: Can't set the date polaroid a500

It looks like the date battery has dried out, check your user manual and try to replace with a new button battery.

Can't get the Date off the Pictures

First you have to go to the set up menu and set the correct time and date, then you can go back to the settings and select OFF for time and date. If you do not set the correct time and date , that default date stays in the picture.

same thing happened to me too! lol. However after you press the menu button and click "default setting", go set your date and time again. Then turn the camera off. Turn it back on and you will find that the date/time is correct!

Time and date

There is a small 3volt battery soldered on the main board that needs to be replaced. It has a yellow band around it, unless you can replace it yourself it's not worthwhile. If you decide to replace it beware of the flash capacitor charge.

Date & time

My camera will not turn on either. I have only used it a couple of times. This is my first time to buy a polariod. I hope we have a solution for this problem. It seems as thought many others are having the same problem, and no one is doing anything to help. Please reply with some sort of solution besides taking it to a pc store. I just bought this, I don't have a receipt, so what is the answer? Thankyou!
