Either the convergence ic is not fitted properly and as u sait it bliks continuinuously this can be the issue of main board replacement as something is getting short.it needs rigrous checking of each part through a multimeter.as  some thing major looks like faulty in the unit.

Sorry, but there is not much you can do at this point. Could be a number of things. Convergance chips shorted, power supply bad. Horizontal circuit shorted. T.V's sence a problem and shut off. They hardly ever blow a fuse anymore. Problem is Philips-Magnavox sets are very poorly built and have a ton of different problems. Then you have other sets like Toshiba or Sony that only have one specific problem, and chances are that's what is wrong. I usually tell people not to waste their money on fixing Philips-Magnavox. We call them Maggot-Box. They used to be good when NAP owned them. They gave techs all kinds of help and service literature....They were great. Now a days...The absolute worst company out there!! MOST repair shops won't touch them. They just don't hold up to repairs

The issue is most likely not the convergence ic's its more likely the power board or any other board. I would personally have the set inspected by a tech.

Its a convergence problem. The three color guns have drifted and it shows on the edges. Typical of an old projector tv

If it looks like attached photos it needs both of the convergence IC chips replaced. They should be stk=392=120 OR a few models used the -110 chip.

I have an 51pp9100d/37 Phillips Tv, and i the red and green colors on the picture are skewed to a weird, almost sideways, S shape. I was wondering if this is an easy fix and cheap, i don't really know...

From what you have said it seems that you need to replace the Convergence ICs, they are Big Black ICs and will have Part number on them ,example STK392-110
Mats Electronics has Parts $9.95 each IC. 1-800-628-1118
PTS rebuilts boards 1-800-844-7871

Philips 43p8341/37, ptv 914 chassis, led code blinks

Let's check and see if we can find the correct board with the problem. A good place to start is to disconnect the jumper jack 1516 [TV unplugged first]. Now plug in the TV, and power the TV on. If the tubes light up and shut down...then the small signal module is at fault. {this contains convergence ICs} Or it could possibly be the ssb [small signal board] is bad. Leave the set unplugged for a few days and plug in and power up this TV..It may work for a few seconds and go down again. These are two good places to start before you pull the boards out...and they are not easy!

Philips 60pp9100d/37 convergence issues

Did you replace the 6.8 ohm 1watt resistors? As that model will usually blow a couple when the ICs fail.

This set is a HD plasma tv and convergence is done differently than the rear projection tv's,rear projection tv's have convergence Ic's and you can adjust the color but not on this unit.

43P8341/37 tv is acting up

Generally, a convergence issue...requires chassis pull &
replacement of two IC's.....large STK's on largest heatsinks in set......up-grade for STK392-110,120 = STK393-160...I use
Hitachi # CZ 01341.....Do not use generics ! Also, check for
over-heated resistors near IC's....1 to 2 ohm.....1 to 2 watt.........

I don't know about this particular philips chassis but I've got a phillips tp3281 with a #32d700-7570 chassis with the same problem: apparently common with philips sets. I opened mine up and discovered the burnt capacitor that others have reported, replaced this as recommended with a higher rated one. In many cases this is apparently ALL that is required to fix the prblm (a 50 cent part)unless other components are also damaged which appears to be the case with mine. This repair is about $150 here locally at a shop which I didn't want to put into a relatively old set. Have you opened up your set yet? Do a Google search on your set and you might find that others have had the same problem and a simple fix could be possible. Also you could check the following site as they seem to be quite savvy and responsive with TV repair questions: http://www.tv-forums.com; Hope that helps!
