Question about Motorola Mobility S805 Wireless Headset

1 Answer

No audio from computer to Motorola S805 Headset

It worked fine yesterday...  Today I click connect in the bluetooth audio manager and it attempts to connect then just says disconnected.  Tried re-linking, reinstalling, rebooting nothing works.  My phone will still hotsync with computer so that tells me computer bluetooth is working.  Phone connects to headset so that tells me headset is working.  Just won't connect from computer to headset

I've been having the same issues...can anyone help us?!?

I have a similar issue. I have 2 laptops (Thinkpad T60p and an Acer Aspire One D150 netbook). The Thinkpad works without a problem (to include file transfers between systems, audio through the S805 headphones, printing from the netbook to one of the Thinkpad printers and syncing my LG Dare cellphone).

The Netbook didn't come with Bluetooth embedded so I had to purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle (Trust 15542 ultra mini). I soon found out that the Thinkpad Bluetooth is a Widcomm based chipset while the dongle was a Toshiba chipset. Each had their own unique way of using Bluetooth.

So the problem with the Netbook and the Toshiba Bluetooth setup ... it's an either or situation. I can either get Audio working flawlessly and not have file transfer ability to my cell or Thinkpad ... or I can have file transfer abililty with No sound.

Really frustrating. I thought they all used the same MS Bluetooth stack.

Oh and that the other thing... I removed the Toshiba driver and software and used just the MS generic ones. On the Thinkpad I can right click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and I'm presented with a menu displaying a "Quick Connect" option with all the profiles listed under it. On the Netbook however ... it's a totally different menu with no "Quick Connect" option but now Send and Receive Files are predominant options.

So now I think I may have to break down and find a WidComm dongle to get the same options that work flawlessly on the Thinkpad.

Motorola S805 headset worked fine with T60 laptop

Solution I found with the same devices is to properly par the devices.

It basically states :

1.Ensure the headphones are turned off (L indicator light not blinking).
2.Press and hold L button. After about 6 seconds, the L indicator light becomes steadily lit.
3.Release the L button. The L indicator light remains steadily lit.

If the L indicator light is flashing or not steadily lit, repeat steps 1 through 3

Now on the T60:

Search for Bluetooth Devices as you would normally.
The T60 lists Bluetooth devices it finds.
Select Motorola S805.
Select OK or Yes to pair your headphones
with your phone.
Enter the passkey: 0000
Select OK.
When your headphones successfully pair
with your phone, the L indicator light
changes from steadily lit to rapidly flashing.

That's it next time you start a audio program on T60 output will be sent to Motorola Headphones

Bluetooth headset problem

There are two types of profiles that Bluetooth headsets uses. One, it is called the A2DP (Advanced Digital Profile) and second is called the Headset profile (Mono).

The A2DP is used for listening music that's transmitted from the phone to the headset.
The Headset profile is used for calling. But the A2DP can also be used for calling if the phone or the headset support it.

If one of your device (either the phone or the headset) doesn't support it, then that could be the reason why you couldn't hear the sound.

If both devices support A2DP, make sure that your headset is connected to the phone via the A2DP profile.

You need to refer to the phone manual to see if it's supported by your phone and how to connect to it.

Hope I explained it properly. Have a great day!

My motorola H550 headset does not work for my PS3

Go to Settings, then Accessory settings, then audio device settings. Now change the input device by selecting it and change it to the motorola H550. Save these changes and It should work. Did for me at least. If you're still having issues or not seeing the option for your Bluetooth device, try going to manage Bluetooth Devices and see about registering it there.

Motorola H700 Bluetooth connection problem

1.Press and hold the Multifunction button in the middle of a boom headset while the headset is closed. The light will glow blue.2.Open the boom microphone and the blue light should remain on. If not, repeat step 1.
3.On the cell phone, press Menu > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth > Handsfree > New Device
4.Select H700 once a connection is detected.
5.The passkey "0000" is now entered to confirm the connection has been made.
6.The cell phone screen will now read "Bluetooth Connection".

1.Provided you set the Bluetooth power to "On" after the initial connection has been made, the phone will automatically re-connect to the headset.
2.To set the Bluetooth power on - Press Menu, Select Settings, then Connections, then Bluetooth link, scroll to Setup and select that. Scroll to Power and chose Change. Scroll to On and press Select. The screen should now read "Changed: Power On".
3.Test Your Connection: Close the headset and watch for cell phone to say "Disconnected". Re-open the headset and the phone should be connected automatically and will now display "Bluetooth Connected".

please give good rating if the solution works.
Thanks for using FixYa.

I loose BT connection after one song

Does the motorola headset make decending tones when it disconnects? If it does, you are listening to your music using the Headset bluetooth profile rather than the High quality audio one. You will need to change the way the device is paired to the phone. Try pairing it as bluetooth headphones or bluetooth high quality audio, rather than a bluetooth headset. Once you have done that, you can pair it as a bluetooth headset too, as the motorola headset connects to 2 bluetooth devices, or in this case, one device, with two profiles. To use the headset profile, press the left M symbol once, and the headset will play a sound to indicate connection as a headset. If you press it again, it will revert to High Quality Audio profile, and you can listen to your music, and even skip/pause it!
