Invalid version of TomTom application installed on your TomTom device. To use HOME you need to install the correct version of the TomTom application''

For users with Smartphones, Pocket PCs etc using TomTom Navigator 6,7 or 8. Please do the following...

If you have installed the application TomTom Navigator to your SD/MMC Storage card as supposed to your device storage then you need to uninstall TomTom Navigator. This will not affect your maps etc. These stay on your stotage card. After you have unistalled TomTom Navigator. Reinstall it but this time when asked where you wish to install it select Device, do NOT install it to the storage card.

Once done lauch TomTom Navigator and follow the setup instructions. Enable Map Share if you you want to use it. When you are finished with configuring the setup close TomTom. Connect your device to your PC/Laptop and open TomTom Home. The error message should now be gone plus if you were not recieving map updates and map shares etc you will now.

certain map share corrections can only be reported...some of those corrections are missing streets...please be advised that the maps on your unit are preloaded...the ability to change them is not possible....the errors can only be reported, and then will be added on future map releases..check out the support page for more on map share

Tom Tom 920

Your Favorites are located in the Map directory in the TomTom.
For example if your using the North American map (North_America).
In a file named MapSettings.cfg.
When you update the map and some times the application this file is overwritten.
I recommend copying the file to the root directory of the TomTom or your computer if changes are made. That way you have a easy back-up of your favorites file.

Unfortunately to recover your old file you may damage other file in the process.

I hope this helps.

Save your TOMTOM

Format the sd card while it is is your device. Start tomtom home and it will load the operating system for your device. You may have to do this several times to get the newest operating system for your device. If you have a copy of your maps just copy and paste the map to the root of your device in my computer. If you don't have acopy of your maps you may be able to download the original map from tomtom home. Open tomtom home click on maps and you may or may not be able to load the original maps that was on your device. Don't think you will be able to download a new map for nothing. It doesn't work that way.
Hope this helps

Upload latest western europe map v7.20 to TOMTOM 700 not possible

I have managed to solve the problem of loading a new map on my Go700 using a Mac. I discovered that Tomtom is incompatible with the Leopad operaying system, despite the protestations of the idiots at Tomtom ,so I reverted to an older Mac using Tiger.
Taking the instructions given to crinold, I tried to erase the disc on the 700 using home 1.5 - and it didn't work. So I went to disc utilities, highlighted and erased the Tomtom disc, and opened home 2,5. After being refused entry several times, like being told to load an already loaded device, I persevered, and managed, slowly, to add the map I had bought for 78 euros. T]One point oif interes is that when I bought the map, they site stated it would cost 63 pounds sterling, but switched it to euros when the invoice arrived. at a rate very favourable to Tomtom - funny, that.
This is sharp practice, probably illegal in many countries,, but, to be honest, dealing with the mysterious Tomtom company is so frustrating, that I don't have the time or inclination to fight them for the money they cheated from me.
How they survive with such an awful product and extremely bad after sales service is hard to understand - perhaps they won't ... we live in hope.

No map

As i mensioned before, i encountered the same problem. However, after i finished installing all the available updatings, the problem just gone. No such 'no map' error message anymore and it just works properly as before.

Hope this will help you.

No maps found??

The problem is caused by a version mismatch between the Application version and the Map Version. They must both be the same. For example, if the TomTom has not had the application updated, but you updated the maps, the TomTom will not know how to read the file.

Make sure that if you are trying to use a version 815 map, that you are using a version 8.XXX application too. I had to upload two application version changes before I could read the new USA maps.

Tomtom One

If you have the programs downloaded from tomtom home then you need to copy them to the sd card that you purchased. In the home program you can choose to install the programs and map to the sd card. It takes a bit of a search to get the tomtom home program understood. The credit card with the codes is an authorization code for the program.
