Try to flick, snap or jar with your finger/finger nail the button at the front panel of the TV especially the MENU (and all others). It or any may have been stuck on the pressed condition.

Hope this helps.

Never heard of Protron- is it a good brand?

You may need to take it back to the shop you bought it from and have them check it out by one of their technicians, if not the maybe the aerial need to be replaced or pickups need to be installed to get better reception!

I think it is an electrical fault in the TV causing this. Don't attempt anything by yourself though because it won't only void the warranty but also might injure you.

Unplug the TV for 5- 10 minutes and then plug in, see what happens, please post what happens

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, I am assuming that you concern is that the Protron PLTV-32 when powered on just flashes a blue LED. If it were so, this indicates that the TV has switched to auto protect mode to prevent further damaged to itself. This has been triggered when the unit senses a fault within itself while performing a built-in diagnostics on start-up. In some instances, unplugging the TV for an extended period of time would simulate a reset and revert the TV back to factory default.

Having said the above, more often, the number and sequence of flashes/blinks could represent an error code. The error code in turn would correspond to a probable area/section that is faulty. This then would be instrumental in selecting which area of the TV to start the check/diagnosis.

This of course would require opening the unit, perform voltage measurements, determine faulty component and subsequent part(s) replacement. Further, a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron would be required. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.Should you however be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Lg 42" tv not displaying screen image

The t-con board controls the picture. To test it shine a flash light on the screen abd see if you can see an image when the TV is on. If you do then the T-con board is OK. Look at the back light ballast board (sometimes is part of the power supply board) If you see no movement or a dim picture with the flash light, then the T-con board is gone. Blue light

Okay, I found a fix! Called JVC, spoke to somebody there, here it is:
1)unplug the TV completely, no wall no power strips, completely
2)wait 10 sec
3)plug TV back in and Turn it on, the light will still be doing the same thing
4)wait 30 sec
5)ON THE TV, not the remote, locate the menu, volume (-) and power button.
6)while simultaneously holding down the menu and volume (-) button, pressed the power button ONCE and continue to hold the other 2 for 10 sec.
7)on the remote control, go to menu>settings>system info
*** now this I know as a FACT will work on systems that display: JVC - ver.5.32FO001, but I don't know of any other versions***
8)press the mute button on the remote twice
9)unplugg TV again and wait 10 sec.
10) plug TV in and turn on

It SHOULD be working normally now... Thanx to the guys a JVC support for this one, I know it seems like an obvious first place to look, but sometimes it isn't. I for one checked online forums first.
