Question about Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 300 GB Hard Drive
Good morning, I bougt two Seagate 250 GB EIDE HD 7200/8MB/ATA-100 Hardrives and encased them in two Ultra Hard Drive Enclosure 3.5 USB 2.0/ Firewire cases. The first one quit and started clicking. I was told its as good as scrap metal now :(. About $200 total down the drain. The other one after reinstalling windows xp will not be recognized in the My Computer area. I have played with and activated the USB drives, downloaded some drivers... and tried different cords and USB ports. Could someone please help me with this issue. I put all my personal data on this hard drive for the reinstallation I did. Any help would be much appriciated! Thank you very much Shayne
Is there no sollution for the first drive?, mines acting the same, just clicking and ****, wont show in my computer either.

On the first drive that does sound DOA if you bought it new, is less than one year old and the warranty hasn?t been voided you should be able to get a refund from the manufacturer. Second drive, have you tried connecting the drive enclosure to another computer as a test? If it can?t read the drive data either I would suspect the enclosure electronics are faulty. Also have you tried the firewire interface yet? Semper Fi, are you active or former?
