Re: Adobe Photo Deluxe 2.0 will not work with Vista
if your machine is 64-bit Vista, then you need to install Windows XP-64bit.
you can install Windows 32-bit on a 64-bit machine, it will work. just not as good. However, you can't install 64-bit OS on a 32-bit machine.
if the machine is 32-bit then you can install any type of OS you want, you can even install them as dual boot.

Adobe Photo Deluxe is an older program that does not seem to be compatible with Windows 7. you should contact Adobe to see if they have an updated version.
However, you can try the following to see if it will help. If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode. Use the following steps: 1)Right click on the Program 2)Click on Properties 3)Click on Compatibility tab 4)Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever operating system the program was running successfully. Refer to the link here: Make older programs run in this version of Windows http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
I found this solution on another forum and it worked for me. I have Adobe Photodeluxe 4 on a vista OS and got the same RAM error. I tried the "change the virtual memory" fix and that did not work. Then I found this: Right click on the Adobe Photodeluxe icon on the desktop and choose Properties, click on the Compatibility tab and choose run this progam in Windows XP service pack 2 mode. It worked for me!
I just got Photo deluxe 2.0 to work on a new computer
(bought Feb. 2010) with Windows 7, and I don’t even have a .setup file. This
was a program that came with an HP years ago when they included a lot of
software. I had simply dragged and dropped the program onto a CD. Since then I loaded
and ran it on my XP without problem. Now
with Windows 7 I got the ‘not enough RAM’ message and tried everything
suggested on several blogs without luck. To fix the problem I right clicked on
the .exe file and selected ‘properties’. Went to ‘compatibility’ then checked ‘run
this program in compatibility mode for:’ and selected, ‘windows 98 / windows me’.
Boy was I happy to see it up and running again. Hope this helps someone out
there, this is a great program. I’ve used the newer versions and they are WAY
too complicated for my usage.
There is no known software compatibility with adobe premiere and vista. The problem will be that you might have changed any setting in vista for thumbnails. I know vista is much different than windows. So, have a look around at the settings.
Go into the PhotoDeluxe2.0 CD ROM file list, right click on setup.exe and then go to the compatability tab. Select Win 98/ME. Hit OK. Then double-click on setup.exe. Program should install on Vista. Then find setup.exe on your hard drive, and set the compatability to Windows 98/ME. Program runs, but says something about not being able to load 16-bit driver. Just cancel out of that popup window. Program works fine...for me...so far.
