Question about Whirlpool GU2400XTP Built-in Dishwasher

Help Please I have a whirlpool dishwasher ADP 951 it takes on water but goes no further. It humms then thumps near the motor. I end the program then it pumps out the water. This happens on each cycle. I have replaced the dial control boared as it was burnt under the dial. This ha snot repaired the problem. So far I have checked the motor and it still turns, the hoses are clean and the contacts on the plastic box are a little bit black but seem to be ok. I checked the valve type thing with the stainless steel shaft and it had a rubber washer on the end of it and it seemed to be ok. I have checked the other circuit boards and there are no burn marks on them. Can anyone help me. My email address is themillingtons@gotalk.net.au

Machine overflowed and stopped at beginning of cycle when kitchen sink
was bloacked. Unblocked sink and restarted machine. Water drained oit
ok apart from a little under the filter. Now the start light keeps
flashing and will only work if I hold it in. Machin then ony seems to
run (sounds like it is working) for about 2 mins then stops. I have
taken everything out, made sure no blocks, wash arm is ok but can't get
around this problem. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks Joe Rex, G,day mate, I will check it out next time I get a chance. Australia by the way is great but me and my family need a sea change. Too much of the same thing gets us stirred up here. Kangaroos do not run around the city here but in the country towns they sometimes do. We are in Newcastle 160 kilometres from Sydney. You might have heard about the earth quake on December 28 1989. I will let you know how it goes with both the dishwasher and our need to have a change of, well something.

REMOVE THE LOWER DISH RACK. MAKE SURE THE SPRAY ARM IS TURNING FREELY AND SEATED DOWN SECURELY. MAKE SURE THE DRAIN LINE IS NOT PLUGED. IT HAS A WATER LEVEL SAFEY SWITCH ... I9F THE WATER IS NOT DRAINING ON THE RINSE CYCLE, THE WASHER WILL SHUT OFF IN THAT CYCLE. WHEN IT STOPS. SEE IF THERE IS ANY WATER IN THE BOTTOM ... THERE SHOULD BE NO WATER.

THE ONLY OTHER THING IS THE DRYING CYCLE ...

ALL DISH WASHERS HAVE A ELECTRIC HEATER ELEMENT THAT DRIES THE DISHES. THERE IS A HI-TEMP LIMIT IN THE CIRCUIT THAT MAYBE OPEN OR THE ELEMENT ITSEL COULD ME BAD.

YOU MENTIONED THAT THE CONTROL DIAL HAD BURNT UP? THIS MAKES ME BELIEVE IF THE MOTOR RUNS FINE THE ONLY OTHER DEVICE THAT DRAWS ENOUGH AMPS TO BURN UP THAT CONTROL IS THE HEATER ELEMENT CIRCUIT.

GOOD LUCK ... I WISH YOU LUCK. HOW IS AUSTRAILIA ??? I ALWAYS WANTED TO MOVE THERE TO SEE THE WATER DRAIN CLOCK-WISE ...LOL.

Whirpool ADP 5550. Will only rinse. Does not

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Can someone please help, my start light has just started flashing on my whirlpool adp 951 dishwasher has never done it before, have cleaned all the arms and filters but is still doing the same thing. ...

OK I SOLVED MY PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE TIP. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I COULD DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WHIRLPOOL WERE ABSOLUTELY HOPELESS, SO HAVE DECIDED NOT TO BUY ANOTHER ONE FROM THEM AGAIN. HAVE NOW BOUGHT AN LG - SO THAT WILL BE ARRIVING IN 7 - 10 DAYS. HAVE JUST PUT AN AXE THRU THE OLD ONE, AT LEAST THAT HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM NOW.

THANKS FOR NO COMMENTS REALLY APPRECIATED. NOT

Start light flashing

start light on and no other action could mean that the door catch has gone faulty, test accordingly and replace if needed, no wash cycle will work if this item is faulty, the waste outlet pump may be the only part that will work on some models, this is a safety feature hope i have helped if so please rate me, work safe unplug when testing
