Hi there,

I have the same problem weeks ago. Maybe the problem your faicng is that your TV bulb has jus worn out. Mine's buld filament was broken and all I did was replace it with a new one. If you ever want to try to replace it, make sure that you bought the original one. I learned my lesson when I got a phillips. Now my tv's working like new.

Picture went black. where do i find the lamp. i do not have a manual

Pop the front cover off. There is a built-in screw left of center that holds a door on. Unscrew that and remove the cover. Inside, you will see another screw on the right side. Unscrew that (it stays with the housing unit) and pull the handle to remove the lamp housing unit.

Pop and the screen went black.

If you herd a pop noise, the lamp would be my suspect. You should be able to take it out and varify. All LCD projections are subject to the same type of failures and without notice. If you have around 3000 or 4000 hrs of use the set would probly give you a message the lamp should be replaced soon.
Hope this helps,

most likely the bulb has blown, often they will actually shatter which can sound like a large popping sound

You need to replace the lamp in this set. The "pop" you heard was the lamp popping.
